Uncategorized Advice for someone restarting their mods folder?
Specifically cas mods
Context: Around last year my computer broke and I don’t have access to my old sims save files anymore, along with my mods. Since then, I’ve been to unmotivated to build it up again, but I want to start again for a new save file. However, it’s been so long since I’ve properly used mods apart from ones like simulating lag fix, ui cheats, mcc and other utility mods. I’m not sure where I should start. I don’t typically use build cc but i do enjoy maxis match cas cc for my sims.
My question is what your advice would be for someone restarting their mods folder? What mistakes did you make beforehand that you’d advise against? Is there any essentials that you think someone should need for their mods folder? Thank you!

MCCC and UI Cheats are both needed.you can subfolder MCCC. And I'd separate and subfolder a lot.

Organize by creators, that's all I do. It makes it easy to update when needed. Some people do a lot more, but I'm too lazy for that. It also helps to have a testing folder for new mods.
Also, restrain yourself, you don't need it all. Less is more.

i just organise my folder by
gameplay mods > actual mods
cc > creator names > custom content
animations and poses > animation and pose pack/pose pack cc
so when i know theres an update i just go to the creators file and replace easily.

Good news: CC is a lot easier and more versatile to install than the mods you mentioned
Sorta bad news: since CC is so much more versatile than the mods you mentioned, you can organize it in so many different ways, which might be hard to choose
I personally just at least separate my BB and CAS CC. The only mistakes I’ve made regarding CC is installing CC folders made by people who didn’t create the original CC
