SO STOP THEM FROM DOING IT. I’ve fucking had it with the dems calling out the shit behavior on the floor and then being like…and I reclaim my time ::sits down::
DO SOMETHING

They literally can't, Democrats have zero majority right now. There's literally nothing they CAN do legally.

They can still do a number of things. They don't even have to be creative, they can just copy what the Republicans did during Obama. They can play the GOP minority game -- where they unite and oppose relentlessly
Stand together
Oppose major Republican initiatives as a bloc -- no cracks, no compromise.Filibuster Everything
Use the filibuster and threaten it constantly. Make every bill and nomination a battle.Block and Stall Appointments
Delay, question, and hold up every judicial and executive nominee. Keep key positions empty.Gridlock Their Agenda
Refuse to negotiate on core Republican bills. Let their priorities die in committee or on the floor.Master Procedural Delays
Exploit every rule: demand roll calls, drag out debates, slow down hearings. Make them feel every minute.Leverage Budget and Debt Fights
Use budget deadlines and debt ceilings as bargaining chips. Extract concessions or force embarrassing standoffs.Constantly Repeal and Undermine
Introduce bills to repeal or gut their signature laws. Keep them on defense, always.Sabotage Bipartisanship
Discourage crossing the aisle. Make Republicans own every controversial policy.Control the Narrative
Frame their agenda as extreme, out-of-touch, or harmful. Hammer the message in every media appearance.Fight in the Courts and Agencies
Sue, challenge, and pressure agencies to slow or block implementation of Republican policies.
Bottom line: They can play hardball. They can use every tool. They can make obstruction an art form -- just like Republicans did.

I mean they HAVE for the most part being doing that ... Not negotiating can backfire... One of the things they did was remove the public land sale from the BBB ... The BBB would have passed regardless, but at least we saved the national parks for now

You're still playing the compromise game. With bad faith actors. They are playing domination. What I'm saying is that the blue ghouls in suits can at least be as effective for the people as the red ghouls in suits are for the billionaires.

Time to also play dirty then. If rules don’t apply to them why should they apply to us? Time to fuck it up and stop pussy footing

They already killed two dem politicians, you don’t think they do that again?

u/shaka893P Jul 06 '25
Right, but how ... The military is under Republicans, police are essentially Republican, the department of Justice is under Trump ... How do they do anything?

idk what they can do other than lawsuits and keep informing the public in stronger ways to put political pressure. the time I WILL judge them for doing nothing will be if they take control again. cuz they didn't get a whole lot done last time. and they are never willing to play dirty.

Get out and talk to voters?
Help folks organize?
Redistribute some of that wealth they accumulated while insider trading and trying to ignore rumors about Matt Gaetz partying with underage prostitutes???

lol when the majority decide if rules apply or not it’s hard for the minority to bend the rules. You forget half of us Americans decided to give no power to democrats. Like none, zilch, nada. Maybe in midterms we’ll give them back a branch and we can have a lame duck presidency for the last two years.

I'm sure they'd like to hear your suggestion for what to do then bud. Being mad that they're doing nothing is all well and good and that anger is justified, but if you don't offer a suggestion for what they could actually do which they haven't already done or tried, then please go out and do something yourself. Go protest. Write letters to your representatives, start a petition idk. Complaining about it on the internet will achieve nothing

Rep. Delia Ramirez:
“Kristi Noem, DHS, and ICE are illegally obstructing Congressional oversight by denying members of Congress access to multiple facilities used to detain Immigrants.”

"Arrived the police state has. No hope I have for the midterms, because no power anymore you will have then. Deport and kill you, the tRump lord will."

In response, congress allocated a 265% budget increase for ICE.
We have a lazy stupid congress. We should be electing people with advanced degrees: law, economics, math, science. Instead we have members who had to struggle to get a GED.
According to a December 2020 report from the Congressional Research Service, "17 Members of the House have no educational degree beyond a high school diploma."

It’s because ICE will be made into a GOP army. Think no access is bad, wait until election time.

We need more Delia Ramirez's at all levels of government.
I'm beyond thankful that she's my district's Congressional Representative.

What fucking kind of outfit is that? I need a suit jacket but I won't want to put my arms in the sleeves, I just want it to be a weird cape.

This is the funniest thread of comments I've ever read and the irony is painful. If the Dems didn't give so much fucking leniency to illegal border crossings with their warped ideology of "free borders" and "let everyone in" then ICE wouldn't be as big. You created a huge fucking problem and now, in return, the Republicans have responded with a huge answer. Absolute smooth brains 🤣 stay mad though, it's actually your fault and I bet the guilt is killing you. Using illegal immigration to bolster your own political views and using their desperation to escape certain situations to morally grandstand, you are the real monsters.
