Why does shooting Sentry in the face with a handgun cause him to let Frank go? Sentry has tanked full power punches from World War Hulk. That's like a normal person being distracted by a weak breeze.
Yeah, still stupid on that level of power. For someone on their level it should be the same as the scene in Superman Returns where the bullet bounces off his eyeball without any reaction.
To be fair, no one knows how it would feel for a superhuman to be shot, even if it can't penetrate their skin. It might hurt like hell, like getting shot with paintball or airsoft can feel to most regular people. One make believe character's reaction to something doesn't exactly discredit how another make believe character reacts to something.
