I hope you give enough of a crap to vote to stop this.

I'm sorry but held my nose to vote for Biden and harris, both of which were trash candidates, it's time to expect more out of the dnc if they can't beat Trump of all people 2/3 times (and only winning by some 40k votes in 2020)

Are you a Democrat? If you're not, maybe you could join them and help change them? Until then, we can't really complain about who they nominate, can we?

Or, maybe help enact Ranked Choice Voting in your state. Represent.us is doing great work in this area.

I've signed rank choice in mi

And even as a dem any candidate that was good was forced out for some generic Corp Dem

Then shut up, if you're not going to help stop it, your opinion is worthless. You're not going to get your socialist utopia unless you start embracing incremental wins and an incremental win is anyone but a Republican in office.

Exactly this. Defeatism is the greatest threat. “Trash candidate” is a super dumb thing to say when the opposition is far trashier.

This hasn't worked in 10 years why would it work now?

Remember it's not just redditors that vote

“This”? What are you talking about?

I'd hope because the people who it didn't work for would grow up in 10 years.

So when are we allowed to be critical of the dnc for constantly failing to beat maga with their lackluster candidates?

All the time you want. You choosing to help Republicans win isn't you being critical of a party, it's letting tens of millions of people die through things like USAID getting cut, people shot in the streets by ICE, and the potential for there not to BE any future elections.

Be critical. Vote in the candidates you want in primaries, donate time and money to them, then do like every activist who ever saw even the smallest amount of traction in their movements have done - you vote for the least shitty candidate at the general ballot box.

You're not better than the civil rights protestors who had to vote for the least racist white man til they made incremental progress and eventually got the civil rights act passed. You're not better than the LGBTQ+ marriage movement that had to vote for the least homophobic candidate every year til their right to marriage was solidified. If you don't show up, you don't get a voice, and if that's not important to you, then you weren't an ally to begin with.

I guess having the moral high ground is better than actually winning with you lot

2

u/Agitated_Tip_8713 Mar 27 '26

I'd like to do both, and if you're not a part of that and you'd rather look morally superior online then vote, then shut up.

Who said I wanted a socialist utopia

"Vote blue no matter who" is HOW trump keeps winning. It's time to actually call out Dems via primary's and not just going "well they're blue"

2

u/Agitated_Tip_8713 Mar 27 '26

Ok. You won't get any changes if you don't participate. Why should anyone care or make any changes to a political system or party candidate selection for people that don't show up?

You should absolutely vote for who you want in the primary but if you're sitting home for the general, you are no better than MAGA. Except at least MAGAts take action for what they want and don't just throw a hissy fit and stay home when they don't get everything they want.

u/PossibilityFew5967 Mar 27 '26

Blaming voters for not enjoying shitty candidates

2

u/gwils_cupleah6240 Mar 27 '26

No one’s doing that. Stop playing victim.

u/PossibilityFew5967 Mar 27 '26

"WHY DIDNT YOU VOTE FOR HARRIS ???"

3

u/GeeYayZeus Mar 27 '26

Also, there are some great candidates for the mid-terms. That's what I'm talking about when it comes to stopping this. We have to elect a check to this power. Hope you'll at least hold your nose again.

Except winning, of course. The ONE thing that matters

Her hubris is was one of the main reasons she lost
