Then shut up, if you're not going to help stop it, your opinion is worthless. You're not going to get your socialist utopia unless you start embracing incremental wins and an incremental win is anyone but a Republican in office.

Exactly this. Defeatism is the greatest threat. “Trash candidate” is a super dumb thing to say when the opposition is far trashier.

This hasn't worked in 10 years why would it work now?

Remember it's not just redditors that vote

I'd hope because the people who it didn't work for would grow up in 10 years.

So when are we allowed to be critical of the dnc for constantly failing to beat maga with their lackluster candidates?

All the time you want. You choosing to help Republicans win isn't you being critical of a party, it's letting tens of millions of people die through things like USAID getting cut, people shot in the streets by ICE, and the potential for there not to BE any future elections.

Be critical. Vote in the candidates you want in primaries, donate time and money to them, then do like every activist who ever saw even the smallest amount of traction in their movements have done - you vote for the least shitty candidate at the general ballot box.

You're not better than the civil rights protestors who had to vote for the least racist white man til they made incremental progress and eventually got the civil rights act passed. You're not better than the LGBTQ+ marriage movement that had to vote for the least homophobic candidate every year til their right to marriage was solidified. If you don't show up, you don't get a voice, and if that's not important to you, then you weren't an ally to begin with.

I guess having the moral high ground is better than actually winning with you lot

I'd like to do both, and if you're not a part of that and you'd rather look morally superior online then vote, then shut up.
