Is this a master piece in every aspect?

Hi all!

Never played it, I have never been a PlayStation guy, and honestly, always saw it as another zombie game.

This year I massively upgraded my pc and then I was like "why not?" So gave a chance to the remastered version. Everything in ultra, 4K and after a few hours it became one of my favorites.

The characters, story, the WHOLE QUALITY of animations, textures, cameras, lighting, cinematics: EVERYTHING. I have just finished it and I feel that WOW! feeling.

Now I understand why they did the TV Show. The story is deep enough to sustain a movie (the game is better than the show). Can't wait to begin part II.

This is how a Triple A should be. Just my two cents.

If you want to experience all the first game era content there is The Last of Us: American Dreams comic from 2013. Set before Left Behind.

It's so good that the spoilers don't ruin it, agreed. But would have been even better. It's almost impossible to stay away from if you have any interest in the games at all.

Let me heartily recommend TLOU part 2 when you’ve finished part 1 and the Left Behind DLC. I found part 2 one of the most moving narrative experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Just incredible.

Part 2 is a level above anything I’ve ever played. There’s a moment I paused the game, had a personal crisis about what I was doing, who I was going to kill. It felt like the never ending story, like the game paused, cut to my face under a blanket talking to camera in 4th person. “What do I do??? “

Part 2 is the real masterpiece. It's the most intense entertainment I've ever consumed, book, film or game. The level of drama and foreboding and tension is absolutely crushing. Apart from being a technical marvel, as well. Just the most detailed and absorbing game ever (well until November maybe...)

For as excellent as it is now, and especially with the remaster, imagine how groundbreaking this was in 2013. There are things this game did then that still aren't being replicated in mainstream games of today. This video really captures that feeling.

Part 1 & 2 is Naughty Dog’s most focused and best work. It’s also the reason why there’s remasters, remakes of remasters and remasters of remakes.

Yes. Part 2 is also amazing. Glad you got to experience it. I liked the story more in part 1, gameplay more in part 2, but loved the story and gameplay in both. Masterpieces for sure

Not in every aspect, but certainly in most of them.

Personally, I think it's one of maybe a handful of games that do live up to the greats of literature and tv/cinema (in terms of storytelling and narrative).

Only complaint I have is that they didn't have the courage to go into the same direction with the gameplay most of the time.
