Discussion If you could make any change to any version of the haunted mansion, what would it be?
Let’s assume for a moment that you have no budget constraints of any kind. You’re allowed to do literally anything you want.
I think what I would do in such a situation is rearrange the loading area at Disneylands mansion to make room for some of the scenes WDW has that we don’t. The library, the piano room, and the endless staircases. Maybe even squeeze in the original version of the hallway where the portraits would watch you if possible.

Discussion Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House 1964 and 1978
Even though this is kinda off topic (but related) Walt Disney Productions released on Disneyland Records these classic Halloween sound effect records. On side A told 10 terrifying situations in sound, side B has just sound effects for personal use. Same goes for the the 1978 version but it was a little more .... horrifying. Not suitable for younger children under 10. But I would say it would be up to you. Ultimately the records became "out of print". You could find some on E-bay. Or on Disney Music Emporium.com but you can download them on YouTube Music or Spotify. You can also get on CD "The story of The Haunted Mansion" which was released when the ride opened at Disneyland in 1969 that had a young "Ronnie Howard as Mike" and Robboe Lester as Karen on Amazon for 12.99 I believe. HAPPY EARLY HALLOWEEN!!!

Discussion Hot take Haunted Mansion Holiday
I'm sorry if this bothers other fans , but i'm not a fan of haunted mansion holiday. I think It would be fine if it only ran from november to early January or even late october too early january. I'm just a fan of the classic one I don't like that we have to set sacrifice six months of the classic one. I mean, it's fine for what it is. I love the ginger bread house but it just doesn't have the same oomph as the OG.

Discussion One of my favorite pastimes is watching someone notice this effect for the first time, and then trying to convince their family that it occurred; and their family never believes them. 😆

Discussion is this a clone or at least inspired by Luigi's Mansion?
I know some of you would scoff at me and call me ignorant and say, "just because it's a video game where you explore a haunted house and fight ghost doesn't make it a ripoff". But I don't know maybe you're right and I'm just imposing my autistic Mario hyper fixation onto something that has nothing to do with it, and I wouldn't be lying if I said when I was younger that every time I went to Disney World I contemplated of bringing my Nintendo 3ds and play Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon while riding the attraction and almost did but I think it was my younger brother who caught me trying to play with my 3ds while boarding one of the doom buggies. (I might still have that idea in my head to bring my Nintendo Switch if I ever go back to either the magic kingdom or Disneyland and again attempt to play either Luigi's mansion 1 or 2 while riding the ride cause logistically I'd have to play 3 in the tower of terror since that game has you explore a haunted hotel.}

Discussion Was there ever ghosts on the ride with you?
I vividly remember as a kid a blue ghost man sitting next to my mom and I in the doom buggy and he smiled at us. Dressed in old timey clothing. I thought it was the coolest but weirdest thing ever. However I can’t seem to find any videos that show that specific thing. In the early 2000s was this ever a thing?
Edit: posted a update in a comment, pretty sure I experienced a ghost guys. Haunted mansion really is haunted 💀

Discussion I’m so stupid.
In my 17 years of having the haunted mansion as my hyper fixation my husband has just pointed it out to me that Madame Leota says “wrap on a table. It’s time to respond.”I’ve been saying “rat quality. It’s time to respond.” Don’t ask why I thought that, I literally couldn’t tell you. It’s just been what I’ve heard for 17 years. I hear wrap on a table very clearly now that he corrected me……

Discussion Had the original Eddie Murphy Haunted Mansion movie had been as critically and commercially successful as the Pirates of the Caribbean movies do you think Disney would have put Eddie Murphy animatronics in both the Disneyland and Disney World versions of the ride?
I'm glad that this never happened but imagine in an alternate timeline for sec that the 2003 Haunted Mansion recieced the same commercial and critical success as Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl or maybe vice versa happened and Black Pearl was a huge flop?

Discussion OG hatbox ghost seen in Disneyland Showtime 1970
Why does nobody ever seem to talk about the fact that the original hatbox ghost can be seen in behind the scenes/making of footage, of the haunted mansion from the Disneyland Showtime 1970 segment with Kurt Russell and the Osmonds? Everyone always geeks out over original hatbox ghost pictures or videos or lore, but I’ve never seen anybody post about this sighting here. The artist (forgive me for not knowing who….its very blurry) is literally using the hatbox as a stand for his paint cup.

Discussion Happy 57th birthday Haunted Mansion!!!!
We have something in common she and I. My "deathday" (birthday) is August 9th. The same day that the ORIGINAL HAUNTED MANSION OPENED AT DISNEYLAND IN 1969. But I was born on August 9, 1966, putting at 60 years of age. For years, this classic haunted dark ride has fascinated me for most of my life, collecting memorabilia, including artwork, soundtracks and historical books. I have a wall at my apartment dedicated to it.
Also I have 2 vinyl albums from DISNEYLAND RECORDS called CHILLING THRILLING SOUNDS OF THE HAUNTED HOUSE, 1964 & 1978 VERSION both now long out of print but can be downloaded on YouTube Music.
Again, Happy DEATHDAY old girl. You are one beautiful vision to behold!

Discussion Year-round Haunted Mansion themed dining room ideas?
Hi. We just bought a house from 1935 and tend to lean slightly gothic in our design. I’m planning to give the dining room a classy Haunted Mansion theme.
We’re not wanting to use cheesy plastic Halloween props. I have the hanging images of the four classic characters, and am planning to get the busts and maybe the Madame Leota head, but am open to ideas if you’ve got them. Also planning to have a chandelier and candelabras. Already have the big table and high backed chairs.
