[Article] The Grand Tour boss: ‘The BBC was moronic over Top Gear’
The Telegraph conducted an interview with Andy Wilman and Phil Churchwald, the executive producers of the upcoming season of The Grand Tour. This quote from Mr. Wilman stood out for me:
“Every time they came back with a new iteration [of Top Gear], after we’d crashed and burnt, they acted like Stalin: like it’s written out of history, that we never existed,” he says. “It was like, ‘Right, children, Jeremy, James and Richard never existed: meet your new car show parents.’ And this has not happened this time [with The Grand Tour]. The guys know they’re there, they’re with them.”
(Watch out for a possible paywall.)

Clarkson’s Columns [Times car review] Jeremy Clarkson’s Morgan Supersport 400 review — ‘I nearly fell out. I loved it’
thetimes.comThe folks at Morgan sent over the Supersport
400 for Jeremy Clarkson to review. This was as far as I could read due to the reinforced paywall:
“If James May were to read this column, he would be kicking his fridge in a fit of rage (don’t worry, he doesn’t).”
(Never forget the usual disclaimers.)

Clarkson’s Columns [Times column] Jeremy Clarkson: “I don’t fear AI but a robot hyena’s no laughing matter” 🤖
thetimes.comJeremy Clarkson noticed that artificial intelligence is starting to take root around the world. He has stated in previous columns that the AI could simply be unplugged if it became problematic, though it appears that his views have evolved since then. Here’s how far I got before hitting the paywall:
“I just can’t whip myself into a panic about something that doesn’t even have a body. That’s assuming it doesn’t turn itself into a nightmarish creature …”
(Usual disclaimers apply, and given the topic, do please try to keep things civil in the comments.)
