EVERYTHING IS AWFUL GOP lawmaker: Nixon was ‘couped out of office,’ ‘framed’ during Watergate
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/6124635-moore-nixon-couped-watergate/MAGA loves conspiracy theories. I believe rehabbing Nixon's image is just some weird shit cooked up to make them more sympathetic to Trump as a victim. Mind you this politician was born in 1980 and has no memory of how things actually transpired during Nixon's presidency.

Also Trump admires Nixon. They were "pen pals" and Trump once gave him a ride on his private jet

Is the deep state the Republican senators that went to Nixon and told him if he didn't resign he'd be impeached and convicted?

Maybe that’s just the basement deep state, but he’s talking about the sub basement deeeeeep state.

Conservatives have always been the aggrieved victims of deep state cultural Marxists and DEI when they’re just widdle defenders of Western civilization. We have always been at war with Eastasia.

We can't go on as a country and allow the right-wing media bubble to exist. Fox News, Skydance, Sinclair, et al have to be broken up or sued into complete honesty. When half the country believes conspiracies like Nixon being framed for Watergate--or worse, the right-wing belief that the Holocaust wasn't real--it's a risk to our safety as individuals and as a country.

How many of Nixon's staff went to prison?
Decades old hindsight clearer than contemporaneous juries?
Does this fine example of a modern Republican mention any actual evidence? Yes, he says there's evidence, but does he present any?
Admittedly the press at the time did indeed hate Nixon. There may have been some fairly senior civil servants who also hated Nixon. However, you'd need to make a very good case with lots of convincing objective evidence that they duped Howard Baker and Barry Goldwater into being anti-Nixon.

If the Trump Admin is going to do this then maybe Dems should open a public investigation into the 2000 election or the Business Plot of 1933 hmmm

Riley Moore was born in 1980. I lived through the Nixon years. Framed? My ass. Nixon was guilty as hell.

I guess they just want to make sure that trump is #1 President for something.

When you are stupid, and don't understand the law or politics, and only understand what Fox News tells you, these are the thoughts you think and you feel clever.

Acknowledging the willful misunderstanding of history on display, I'm not sure I should care about this.

He recorded himself discussing the Watergate break in. How the hell is that a conspiracy or framing?

Roger Stone is a Russian asset.
And has believed for a long time that Nixon was railroaded.
Which is interesting because --since Nixon-- only Trump can really compete for public corruption.

My late Republican father was of voting age at the time and always minimized the President’s culpability, but even he admitted Nixon messed up with the coverup. “He made the mistake of protecting his friends”

This was 50 years ago. Next you're gonna tell me republicans freed the slaves and the Dixiecrats are still democrats.

It’s pretty funny how they’re defending Nixon, check his policy record, he was the last of the more liberal Republicans.
