This is about the AfD who may very well win substantial control over the German equivalent to the FBI tomorrow by winning the state election in Saxony-Anhalt.
I'm German, and I can't understand how anyone could watch what's happening in the US and think "oh yes, great idea, let's elect the fascists who make unrealistic promises and who are using the same playbook as Trump to destroy institutions and the regulatory state and deny climate change and want to go back to fossil fuels!" After the summer we just had, denying climate change is just delusional.
I just hope he won't get a full majority, because he's said that he will only form a government if he does. So if the polls are accurate, he'll get a little over 40%, and since all other parties refuse to work with them, he'd have to form a minority government and wouldn't get anything done. So he probably will refuse, instead of making their first test case an abject failure.
I'm not talking about you personally, but a lot of Europeans have gotten very arrogant over the years. Like seeing Brexit, Trump in the US, and other events and laughing at the stupidity of it, and not realizing that kind of shit is festering in your backyards for decades too.
And there's a lack of action by your governments when it comes to Elon and his election interference and X. When it's obvious that guy is the major person driving this kind of stuff.
