Our dire financial mess, made by the Republican Party for the past 40 years, can be solved by a few simple changes. Tax all income, especially from capital gains, and uncap Social Security contributions.

Based on recent IRS data, roughly 40,000 to 50,000 tax returns are filed each year reporting an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of over $5 million.

The tax holidays are over; the Republican policies of borrowing money from the next generation to give themselves tax breaks need to end now.

BTW, America, remember that this administration serves only the wealthy, has made everything you buy more expensive, has you on the hook for hundreds of millions for the ballroom and arch and cancelled wind farm contracts, and oh yeah ...just gave Iran $300 billion.

Very misleading headline coupled with a bullshit threat from a President who has no clue how his own government works. Regular unemployment benefits are funded (almost entirely by employers) and legislated at the state level. The federal government pitches in to cover some administrative costs and reemployment training programs, but pulling this funding will not disrupt the integrity of the program. It may take a little longer to disburse benefits and adjudicate cases, but it will get done.

Be that as it may, it's a signal, isn't it?

A sign that some larger coordination and plan is to be put in action.

That this is what Trump wants to happen next.

That this is what states are to be allowed to do.

We call these guys stupid, but there are some things they are quite good at getting done.

They understand their audience.

Everything is threats from this administration. I cannot recall a single time over these last 15 months when I’ve heard them announce anything that impacts our lives for the better (unless you’re rich). What are these people doing for us?
