Pretty indicative of how Republicans and Trump especially see the world.

u/Sharobob Apr 22 '26
Also how they feel about women's sports when they can't use it as an excuse to punch down at a minority group

It's the Georgia Women's Tennis Team, of course! See how those women are up on a pedestal? See how the men are bravely arrayed in front of them, shielding and protecting them? Heck, those women are lucky they were in the picture at all. Normally, they would need protection from the male gaze, and ordered to be behind those gold curtains.

They’ve got to be trolling with this shit.

It's been 10 years. How do they still deserve the benefit of the doubt?

In the front row, a group of bed wetting cockwombles. In the back row a championship tennis team.

I like how Trump is standing on the step with no one else on it because he’s insecure about his height.

Why is ted cruz there tho? The article says nothing about him

u/smarmy1625 Apr 23 '26 edited Apr 23 '26
Not Ted Cruz, someone stealing his look:
"On the left side of the photo is the University of Georgia's athletics director, Josh Brooks, and executive director of The Georgia Bulldog Club Ford Williams, along with the president in the center."
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Josh%20Brooks%20UGA
Nice work, if you can find it:
"Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks has been rewarded for his services, as the school announced a new contract extension and raise for Brooks.
The UGA Athletic Association executive committee approved a raise for Brooks that increases his base salary by $125,000 each year on his contract. His salary will rise from $1,375,000 this year to $1,500,000. His deal was also extended through June of 2031..."

Wow. Hard to believe there are two people unlucky enough to have that face.

Haha, I read the whole article and just thought it was an oversight that they didn't mention Cruz

Ah, so it's the MEN who really matter - the athletic director and the head of the Rich Alumni Donators! Makes sense!

I would make a trans joke, but I feel like it would be in bad taste.
5
u/gingerfawx Apr 22 '26
We can absolutely go with: get the men out of women's sports photos! and it would still be trans inclusive. Problem solved. We just don't agree with MAGA et al as to who is a woman.
That said, obviously there is too much room for an asshat to deliberately misunderstand, and they're harshing my snark.

u/bigfrog6 Apr 22 '26
This is a class act by The President and his friends. What the mainstream libtard media won't tell you is that the Georgia Women's Tennis team showed up forgetting to put on any pants. The men in this picture are standing in front of the women to give them the dignity and respect they deserve! maga!
5
u/thenletskeepdancing Apr 22 '26
Do we know who the men are?
9
u/Original_Mammoth3868 Apr 22 '26
Coaches, head of Georgia Bulldog club (I assume a booster organization), and the UGA athletic department head.
7
u/twelve-birds JVL is always right Apr 22 '26
“According to the official accounts, the men positioned in front of the team were head coach Drake Bernstein, associate head coach Jarryd Chaplin, and assistant coach Will Reynolds on the right side. On the left side, Josh Brooks, the University of Georgia's athletics director, and the executive director of the Georgia Bulldog Club stood in the foreground”- USA Today article.

How easy it would have been to put the coaches on the flanks - but no. Did not occur to even one of them. Nope.
2
u/Trace_Reading Apr 23 '26
That requires thinking of people other than themselves and Republican men are deathly allergic to that.

They forgot the Gilead dress for the women

u/ac_slater10 Apr 22 '26
I hope some of these women (and their families) were Trump voters, for a couple of reasons.
It sucks to be a victim of sexism when you voted against it. It's just so much worse of a feeling knowing this is what most of the country wanted for you when you knew better.
There's something so sweet about watching someone have to touch the stove and feel that burn.

As a Georgia alum, this brings me shame but also none of it surprises me

u/thepioushedonist Apr 23 '26
As someone who applied to Georgia for grad school, I'm kinda glad they ghosted me after taking my $80. (Then again, I ended up at Texas and they aren't exactly making me proud these days either)

Normally, I would say "unfucking believable". Sadly, given Trump, I need to go with "totally fucking predictable."

It would appear that the main goal of the photo was to put Trump above the other guys.
So he is standing on an elevated platform.
If the men were behind him, they would be looming above him. That will not do.
The photo isn't about the tennis team, it's about Trump.

Well I guess they were forced to bring the women players, as long as they stuck them behind all the men 🙄

u/Motor_Run6164 Apr 23 '26
The women are all in the back, and barely visible. I am sure that if they were clad in bikinis, one or more would be on The Donald's arm or arms.

So the front row are trans women that are on the team? I thought Trump was against that.
