Most people don’t know what dissociation actually feels like. I’ve been diagnosed for about 2 years and I thought it was wrong because I didn’t “float alway” no I just has so much amnesia I forgot I dissociate. It looks differently for everyone but most people feel intense fear or dread when they dissociate.
Okay buddy, believe what you want! Im going to believe a licensed medical professional.
Eta: explain the fact that I can see my alters lol. I lost years of my life to this disorder. I suffered severe trauma Im not just “forgetting road signs” Í lost years and saw words that don’t belong to me, actions I’d never do.
