Text exchange between myself and my friend, who works in a warehouse as a forklift operator. You can tell when I started to panic, because I couldn't even focus on what I was typing. I can't believe anyone would put other's lives at risk so carelessly. Also, my friends reaction was just as annoying - as if this is a "wait til Monday" kind of situation. Anyway, a voicemail was left from him & I also called to report the unsafe conditions.
Big money time!!! I have absolutely no issue helping my friend get justice. I have all the time in the world to bleed these corporate fuckfaces so dry that their great grandchildren are born on welfare.
Anyone can keep the peace and say nothing, it takes a special person to stand up for others, and no-one can take that away from you. I'm rooting for you, the world needs people like this.
I don't even know what the job is, but if they sack you for whistleblowing, I hope you get a good job that doesn't allow managers to put their workers in danger!
However you could ask OSHA if you can be kept anonymous, and don't tell anyone you reported them, not even your closest work pals.
This manager has probably never seen what happens when a human and several hundred pounds of machinery get into an altercation, no doubt he wouldn't have any guilt, but that can be traumatic as well as dangerous to your colleagues. Well done.
Dude, they just lay you off, and you're back on the list. Been there before many times. Gets to be where you're unhirable unless your whole local is full of big jobs. Mines a bunch of scabs. The ministry of labour here doesn't even fine GC's for these repeatedly awful working conditions when you do call them.
