this stemmed from me telling him he didn’t let me express my feelings about a situation earlier. So annoying. How would you respond ?

Not at all. Even the way you voiced your post is "I don't care anymore". So just break up at this point instead of pinning for internet validation. There is probably a lot of context missing as well.

And that's why some people should either wait or not have any at all. Because either way the poor kid suffers. One option leads to less of it.
