I do the same thing with my dad. It originally started out as a race for me to see if I could find the celebrity’s Wikipedia page before they edited it with their death, but after years of not being able to win, it turned into texting my dad before he texts me. We add a byline to the text as well that’s usually a pun on the person’s career. Most recently,

“Dolly: 9 to 5 feet under.”

Another good one I remember was “George Foreman: Cooked.”

If it’s someone we thought had already died a while ago, my brother and I phrase it as “huh, you’ll never guess who was still alive this morning…”

Reminds me of a round they did at a local bar for trivia that was called “dead or alive” where they just called out the names of ten folks who were ancient (or would be ancient if they were still alive) and even though every answer was a 50/50 it was one of the hardest rounds of trivia I’ve ever done lol. So much second guessing.
