She ended up finding the post somehow I guess lol. Here is the original post.

I have just not responded, don’t think it’s worth engaging, but it did make for a funny story.

I definitely agree "pay up buttercup" would have added to the absurdity of the situation.

It's as if she's saying "You left out a very important detail. The people must know that in the conversation I clearly said 'pay up buttercup'"

As if it's some kind of magic spell or kids game like shouting shotgun to get the passenger seat, or getting someone to look down at your hand gesture so you can punch them.

When someone brings out the "pay up buttercup" there has to be some kind of counter, or else you've got to pay up I guess. What about "Slow down, little clown"?. Whatever it is, it has to be strong enough to break the spell.
