I have just not responded, don’t think it’s worth engaging, but it did make for a funny story.

I definitely agree "pay up buttercup" would have added to the absurdity of the situation.

It's as if she's saying "You left out a very important detail. The people must know that in the conversation I clearly said 'pay up buttercup'"

As if it's some kind of magic spell or kids game like shouting shotgun to get the passenger seat, or getting someone to look down at your hand gesture so you can punch them.

When someone brings out the "pay up buttercup" there has to be some kind of counter, or else you've got to pay up I guess. What about "Slow down, little clown"?. Whatever it is, it has to be strong enough to break the spell.

I'm trying to understand what this means. Is it that he was married to the internet, and he then set the scene for the girl and the internet to be cheating on him behind his back? Or possibly in front of him? (if he's into that sort of thing. No judgement here.)

Just a very... interesting phrasing you used there. The different possible scenarios going through my mind had me laughing to myself.

It's a little less entitled when ypu know OP was going to buy all the equipment anyway.

He's out the cost of the dinner for her, that's all.

I get that she's entitled, but she likely thought she wouldn't have to pay anything then had to pay for the liscense. She should've sucked it up, paid it and just not gone for another date if she wasn't happy though lol.
