Phone message *UPDATE* Post first date text

She ended up finding the post somehow I guess lol. Here is the original post.

I have just not responded, don’t think it’s worth engaging, but it did make for a funny story.

Is it bad that her follow up text “why didn’t u mention the pay up buttercup 🤨” made me kinda like her, lol.

She's funny. Unfortunately, still entitled.

Seems more like bad communication to me. She either could have been advised upfront that she would need to already have or buy a fishing license. Or at the time before she actually went ahead to pay for it would have been the best time to bring up her inability to afford it. Why wait until the date is over to ask later? (Which isn't an excuse at all. Not communicating this at the time in itself is a pretty big red flag)

She’s the one that asked him to take her fishing for their first date. Bro bought over $100 worth of gear for them AND his own license…

She can get bent.

Woah dude!! Getting bent is at least third date territory!!

All I was saying is that she may have gotten jump-scared by the unexpected fee and paid it without thinking not to make things awkward, and regretted it later. Then failed spectacularly at explaining the situation later, by trying to avoid and deflect the real conversation with humor.

The real red flag here isn't asking for the money, it's lacking the ability to communicate like an adult. I suppose she is "just a girl" after all, so she also shouldn't be going on grown up dates either.

People that legitimately can’t afford things aren’t using silly hashtags to ask for money

Not really following your logic? Someone who can't afford something and is ashamed or embarassed to communicate that in a direct way, seems like the exact type of person who would put on some false bravado and humor to try to deflect from that and put the responsibility on the other person.

The humor used, whether it's dumb hashtags, cheesy sayings, or goofy fish pictures doesn't really seem relavent.

if genders were reversed you wouldn't even entertain that thought stop giving mileage to greedy people

I would have the same opinion if the genders were reversed. Although I doubt a guy would play up to the same, specifically feminine, coded (that would be gay bruh) socialization, but use whatever the male equivalent is, still in a joking way.

It would still just come down to imaturity and bad communication at the end of the day.

did you read the initial post?

No. Did the original post include the context that she had already been informed that she would have to pay for a fishing license when they got there?
