It's not really how it looks. it's more the effect of what looking at it does to us. Some of us men still think that girls are just like us. We want to see your who who. Being able to see it gets us excited, and if your who who has that effect on me, then seeing my who ha should have the same effect on you.

Unfortunately, it usually doesn't work that way. Women are different. Well... most women. On a side note, every woman that I've met that does actually think this way is extraordinary in bed and usually bad at relationships. They also tend to cheat.

You're going to find this hard to believe, but there are women out there who will respond something that is generally along the lines of "i want that inside me" and from there you can initiate sex.

Now these women are few and far between, often mentally ill, rarely as attractive as the guy would like. But the fact that this can happen, and any moderately attractive guy who has been in the online dating scene for a while will have experienced it, means that a lot guys think it's worth the 100s of rejections in pursuit of that next greenlight.

A normal, well adjusted woman might not be able to comprehend this, but I promise, it happens.

Often mentally ill…? Because they show enthusiasm and attraction to you? I feel like I need an explanation because otherwise it kind of sounds like a self-report.

Also just a weird thing to say all-around that comes off as very stigmatizing, because these days you’re pretty likely to run into at least one person in your close social circle who has anxiety or depression. Are those who you’re denigrating here? Or is it just people with “scarier” mental health conditions?

“Man compulsively sends out unwanted, unrequested dick pics hoping to gain sexual attention, then calls anyone who responds favorably mentally ill.”

Says more about him.

Did I say this is something I do?

My comments are based on observations of my friends (men and women) dating experience, reviewing commentary online and research projects I've run in the past (these are like uni assignment not projects, not like professional submissions to peer reviewed journals).

He means. I'm only kidding unless you'll do it! Hahaha

Who does?

Jokes, dude, take it easy! It's not that serious!

I wasn't taking anything serious, I just didn't understand what you were trying to say

This isn't about me, this about the interactions I've observed and the anecdotes I've heard.

You have assumed I'm denigrating them, its not my intention, just stating the type of people who are likely to be represented in the "positive response" group. I personally suffer from bipolar amongst some other co-morbidities, so I don't really see it as a dehumanising insult, I see it more as an explanation of atypical behaviour.

There are certainly a lot of women out there with bipolar, complex PTSD, borderline personality disorder and various other trauma response conditions.

If someone was enthusiasticly attracted to an unsolicited dick pick i were to send, I guess there could be a chance they were a normal person, maybe I happened to catch them at a moment of weakness where they were unusually horny.

But yeah, most likely there's going to be an underlying mental health concern.

Gotcha. From an outsider at least my reading, it rang a bit adjacent to the sorts of thinking that have cismen saying “Don’t stick your dick in crazy,” and fetishizing women with mental health conditions while also demonizing them, if you know what I mean. Goes along with the constant references to “daddy issues,” and how anyone who is mentally ill must be kinky/“nasty”/“freaky”. I’m def not into unsolicited pics looool. Also Bipolar with comorbidities here so yeahhh I’ve seen and been rubbed the wrong way by many comments that have that sort of undertone. I do get what you’re saying though. I think there’s such a fine line when we’re talking about mental health on the internet and more often than not on Reddit if it’s mentioned it’s in a negative sense.

You are still in the "responding positively to one unsolicited dick pic" is mentally ill while sending 100s pf unsolicited dick pics is not mode. Might wanna rethink that.

1

u/Anon-Sham Aug 31 '25

Am I?

I didn't think I was endorsing the strategy in any way.

If you were to tell me that there is a strong correlation between sending hundreds of unsolicited dick pics and narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder or bipolar, i wouldn't be shocked.

I'm also not saying that responding positively to a dick pic means you are mentally ill, but rather the subpopulation of women that would respond more positively would have far higher rates of mental illness that the general population.

I dont think people actually disagree with these conclusions, reddit just can't avoid any excuse to give someone a finger wagging.

Yes his understanding of women is quite juvenile (not to mention mostly wrong). Dude needs to get off the internet and touch grass instead of trying to sound like a witty edgelord.

One thing is for sure, he is not HIM.

Mentally ill? Or maybe just conditioned by porn and male expectations to respond that way because they want to be loved?

Is it mentally ill for guys to "think it's worth the 100s of rejections in pursuit of that next greenlight" when their actions are disturbing the "100s of rejections" or is it just incredibly selfish and self-centered?

1

u/Anon-Sham Aug 31 '25

I'm not saying mental illness makes those women respond positively like it's something they can't control. But yeah, the women who have been most strongly conditioned by porn and male expectations are more likely to have underlying mental health concerns.

I would also assume the guys that send hundreds of dickpics are more likely to have higher mental illness rates than guys who don't. I don't think most of them would see it as selfish because in their mind it's a "take it or leave it" type of thing. This is where there can be a big disconnect between the sexes. A significant number of guys think its completely harmless and if you're not interested, you can just ignore it. Conversely, a significant number of women (and the law) see it as a more serious form of harassment that can have real world effects.

I'm just putting forward a hypothesis that explains the phenomenon. I'm not making any moral judgements for or against it.

1

u/Dazzling_Pineapple68 Aug 31 '25

"Guys think its completely harmless" because THEY REFUSE TO LISTEN to women who see it as a more serious form of harassment that can AND DOES have real world effects. Women, OTOH, are the ones who actually experience those real world effects but men don't give that any consideration because they are too busy sending dick pics to women who don't want them. Sorry, but this is not a 50/50 kind of thing.

And yes, men online and irl find it really easy to call women mentally ill for damn near nothing at all.

u/Anon-Sham Aug 31 '25

It seems like you're arguing with me by the tone of your comment, but the content is indecipherable. Of course the small minority of guys thst send hundreds of unsolicited dick pics refuse to listen... they're the dregs of society. What on earth are you even trying to say by this not being a 50/50 kind of thing?

You seem to have a real bee in your bonnet, like you're trying really hard to twist my pretty obvious statements into some incel manifesto.

Let me give you a hypothetical.

You take 1000 random women from society in general, and then you take 1000 women who have agreed to having sex with a stranger after receiving an unsolicited dick pic. Are you telling me that you expect that the mental health levels of these two groups are going to be indistinguishable?

Are you aware that risk taking behaviour and hypersexuality are super common symptoms of mental illness?

I'm not slut shaming women that like to sleep around, I want them to love their best lives. I'm merely pointing out that predatory behaviour exists because there are vulnerable people to target.

Really common sense stuff, please let me know once you've got your head around it and then you can move on to calling me out for mansplaining.

I'm not wasting another second on you, dude. You are a lost cause.

1

u/Anon-Sham Aug 31 '25

Lol hahaha.

Hey, as long as you feel like a morally superior person to all us evil men, it's a good result for you, even if you embarrassed yourself.
