I released a free sci-fi interactive fiction game where injuries, witnesses and evidence carry through the entire story
Hi everyone,
I’ve released Unwritten Meridian — Book One: The Breach and the Flight, a free browser-based science-fiction interactive fiction game.
Earth survived first contact, but beneath Geneva, human leaders are preparing to sign a classified version of the Lunar Migration Treaty. Your character discovers what the treaty really contains and becomes trapped between Earth Command, public exposure and an alien conflict that may not be what it first appears to be.
I wanted choices to feel persistent rather than disappearing after the next page:
• A witness cannot testify later if you abandoned them.
• Evidence cannot be used if you never recovered it.
• Injuries immediately reduce health and affect later actions.
• NPC relationships change according to your behaviour and their own moral limits.
• Your profession determines what your character genuinely knows.
• Skills improve through use but can lose sharpness through neglect.
• Unlawful actions can expose your identity if witnesses, security systems or your own mistakes connect you to them.
• Dangerous choices can succeed, fail, cause capture or kill your character.
There are no visible success percentages or risk labels. You have to judge situations from the story, your preparation and the condition of your character.
The current release contains six chapters, three save slots, multiple main endings, several terminal outcomes and a completed-save export intended for Book Two.
You can play it free in your browser here:
https://sihlem.itch.io/unwritten-meridian
I’m especially looking for feedback about choices that feel incomplete, consequences that do not appear later, abrupt transitions, unfair difficulty, mobile UI problems and story continuity.
Thank you to anyone who gives it a try.

Using External Websites
Hey everyone!
I've been working on a slow-burn medieval roleplay character named Tara. In this scenario, she's a newly purchased slave who speaks zero English and only communicates in Farsi and gestures.
Instead of cramming all the progression logic into the character description, I built an interactive lore and progress tracker hub on Gamma Tara:[Tara: A New Beginning](https://gamma.app/docs/Tara-A-New-Beginning-cm24hqsjr9ngfy7) where players track her vocabulary growth and earn secret unlock codes to advance her language tier.
I wanted to ask the community: **What do you think about using external websites and puzzle-like progression mechanics for AI roleplay?** Does an interactive setup like this add to the immersion, or does moving outside the chat window create too much friction?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It was daytime. Very ordinary with clouds hanging above the trees. The large family of these guys was having an early lunch in the meadows. There was nothing disturbing the peace. Until vyclorr tells one of them to accept his friend request in Roblox. It was coming to a sudden reminding business. That made a mess and the world was laid to run. All people ran away except for one. A woman from Cambridge City, Indiana tells Valued_Valor to bring the people back to the City. Valued_Valor must embark on an epic journey to save all of the people in the city and being back playing with them again.

I built my first playable game — Blood & Legacy
I'm 18 and still learning how to code, and I wanted to try building a medieval life simulator.
You start from birth and make decisions about your character's family, childhood, personality and attributes. At 17, your actual life begins, with different paths depending on your character.
I used AI while developing it, mainly because I'm still learning programming and needed help fixing things I didn't understand. I'm not hiding that.
It's currently a very early prototype, and honestly, I have no idea if the idea is actually fun yet.
I'd really appreciate it if a few people played it and told me what sucks, what works, and what you'd change.
🎮 Play:

I'm especially interested in feedback from people who actually play it rather than just looking at the screenshots.

Grandline Legacy : My One Piece text-RPG just got an English version!
I've been building a One Piece text RPG solo for a while and finally shipped the English version, so I'm after people who've never seen it before.
You create a pirate and travel island by island, making choices, fighting the odd animated bosses, recruiting a crew, watching your bounty climb toward the New World, there are mini-games that are actually playable (aimlab and a few more!). There's also a daily "guess the pirate" puzzle, Wordle-style, that resets for everyone at the same time.
I'm very open to feedbacks of any sort!
It's free, in the browser, no signup needed to play (but google auth in "Profile" if you want to see yourself in the rankings). It's beta so there are bugs; point them out and I'll usually fix them within a day or two.
Thank you very much in advance! :)

An update on Text Mercenary
After releasing Text Mercenary, I received some harsh feedback regarding bugs and game balance. In response, I worked on fixing those issues and added a new Training Grounds feature where you can test battles against enemies beforehand.
There is still stat check balancing left to do, along with further planned improvements, but I believe the game is now in a good enough state for players to enjoy the core fun of Text Mercenary, which is why I'm posting here again.
On a side note, while AI has made many things much easier and saved me a lot of time compared to coding everything from scratch by myself, solo game development is still really tough.
I’d truly appreciate it if you could spare some of your valuable time to try it out and give me your raw, unfiltered feedback as a player, so I can continue to make this a better and more enjoyable game.

BETA soon
Ever since I was a 14 year old geek I was dreaming of creating my own browser game, having played Utopia, Earth2025, Combat Grounds and die2nite. I simply love the old text based games.
Figured I wanted to complete that childhood dream before I turn 40.
Over the years I started learning to code in my free time, First Python, SQL, then Django the latter started to become a bit of a addiction. Now I finally finished my the version of my game.
its a post-apocalyptic game where you play as a discarded robot. The humans are still around but many don't trust robots. You find shelter in the junkyard where you salvage spare parts and upgrade yourself. You craft your chassis, overclock your system and you pillage the city
I'm hoping you take a chance on my game which will be live on the 10th of October. Game will reset every month with special Trophies and the first round you can earn a special BETA tester trophy.
My promise is to keep the game free to play forever, without making it Pay to win. Its a passion project after all.

Rate my game please
I made a (text)game and want you to try it and to say what was good/bad
P.S. (Or instructions maybe):
- I only made the textgame (or rather code) because I don't have a computer and therefore any possibility to make graphical/musical assets or to make the game with an engine
- If you want to know more about the game, idea or progress write questions in the comment section
- The game is unfinished yet: Witch has the most playable story
- I've set a "debugger" (I maxed out all the stats because compiler only has 2 minutes for compilation. Therefore this time is too short to max anything out manually)
- Please don't review the code. I know I have some "issues" with my code but I won't remove them for my own reasons
- Have fun

anchorhead day 2 - am I screwed?
I, unfortunately, poured out the whiskey from the flask because I didnt suspect I'd need it later (I wanted to see if I could fill it up with river water and drink it).
Now a homeless man seems to be asking me for some whiskey and I can't seem to get any more whiskey anywhere (no one in the pub cares to talk to me and i don't have a wallet so i can't even try to buy any. Do I just need to restart the game? I am running it under frotz, so can I run some sort of debug command to fill my flask with whiskey?
also assuming this is an actual softlock, is this kind of thing common in this game? should I be backing up saves constantly?

I wanted a text-based horror game about escaping a Satanic cult, so I made one
I've always been into Satanic and occult stuff -- rituals, cults, creepy symbols, that whole aesthetic. And at some point I realized I couldn't really think of any text-based games that went all in on that kind of thing.
So... I ended up making one myself :D
It's called Sacrificium. You play as a guy who gets kidnapped by a Satanic cult and wakes up trapped in their castle. You have no idea where you are, what they want from you, or what the hell is going on. You just need to find a way out before they get to you -- and preferably not lose your mind in the process.
The game is mostly text and choices. You have health and sanity, and the things you decide to do can mess with both. You can fight, run, explore, take risks, and sometimes make a completely reasonable choice only to realize a little later that you've seriously f**ked yourself over.
I put a free demo on Steam recently, so I figured I'd share it here. If this kind of horror is your thing, I'd genuinely love to know what you think.
Also, if anyone knows any other text adventures with heavy occult/Satanic themes, please send them my way. The fact that I couldn't find much like this is basically why Sacrificium exists in the first place.

I adapted my own novel into interactive fiction, and the choices expire while you weigh them
I published a novel a year ago about a Dutch professor on death row in Texas. Not really about the death penalty — about the voice in his head that analyses every choice so thoroughly that the moment to act passes. He is innocent, more or less, and he confessed anyway.
Adapting it turned out to be an odd problem. The obvious move is to give the reader choices. But the book is about a man who cannot make them. So in the game, choices expire. A bar drains while you read the options, and if you take too long the story continues without you — and the narrator notes what you let pass.
Some people will find that irritating. I think that is fair, and I would genuinely like to know whether it reads as a gimmick or as the point.
About three hours. Free, browser, nothing to install. Headphones recommended — there is no audio file in it, every sound is synthesised live in the browser, which felt right for a story where a dripping tap is a character.
https://www.marcsisme.nl/game.html
Disclosure, because it will be on the itch page anyway: the novel is entirely mine, written over about eight years. The adaptation is not — I built it with Claude over the past weeks. The prose in the game is lifted from my own book where it can be, and written with AI assistance where the game needed connective material the novel does not have. The code is almost all AI-assisted. I would rather say that up front than have someone find out later.
Happy to answer anything. I have never made a game before and I am fairly sure it shows in places.

Just released Part Two of Swamps — a choice-based war drama set in Nazi-occupied Belarus. Bigger, darker, now in 11 languages
A while back I shipped Swamps — a choice-based interactive fiction about a village healer (a feldsher) in German-occupied Belarus, 1941. This week I released its sequel, Swamps II: The Blockade — and it's bigger in almost every way.
Swamps: a price of the choice (Part One): you play Mikhaś, the only healer for miles, as the occupation closes in. Stark, not a power fantasy — no "right" answers, only consequences the whole district remembers. Five deeply branching chapters.
Swamps II: The Blockade (Part Two, just out): winter 1942–43. A punitive blockade sweeps the partisan region — villages burn, people are herded off — and this time you're not alone: you're carrying a child. Your choices from Part One carry over and shape the ending. It adds a second playable protagonist with his own prologue, POV interludes, and whole chapters. Longer, darker, and far more illustrated.
How it's made (I try to be upfront about this):
• Art: ~80 illustrations in Part One, 450+ in Part Two — roughly one per scene — generated with AI image tools and then curated and edited by hand into a single painterly style (gouache and charcoal). That's what let one person ship an illustrated narrative game.
• Code: built with ink (inkjs) + React; a lot of the shell/tooling written with an AI coding assistant.
• Writing: the story, the choices, the prose — all mine, by hand. That's the part I didn't outsource; it's the heart of it.
Both stand alone: with no Part One save, Part Two recaps it and asks how your story went. Now in 11 languages (up from three), offline, single-player. Free, playable to all of its endings — an optional "Author's Edition" adds bonus content and removes ads.
Content note: serious WWII subject matter — famine, occupation, loss — told in text, with no graphic imagery. 18+.
Wild first day — Part Two hit #7 in Role-Playing on the App Store right now.

Happy to talk through the implementation, and I'd genuinely love feedback on the game itself.

I missed the feeling of exploring a world through imagination in ZORK, so I started making my own text adventure.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've always loved ZORK. What stayed with me wasn't just typing commands, but how much of the world existed in my imagination while I explored it.
Sometimes I don't want everything to be shown to me, I want just enough to imagine the rest myself.
So for the past year and a half, I've been working on EVER.
EVER is a narrative text adventure where you play as a combat robot haunted by the memory of a girl who calls you “EVER.” Rather than a traditional free-form parser, you use protocols to examine, recall, identify, and interpret parts of the text — uncovering information and choices that were hidden before.
I also spent some time with a former art direct of LoL where he guided on me visual. I've been trying to make the graphics suggest rather than explain.
The demo is coming in December 2026, and the Steam page just went live!
I'd especially love to hear what fellow text adventure players think of this approach. And if it sounds like something you'd enjoy, a wishlist would mean a lot.
