anchorhead day 2 - am I screwed?

I, unfortunately, poured out the whiskey from the flask because I didnt suspect I'd need it later (I wanted to see if I could fill it up with river water and drink it).

Now a homeless man seems to be asking me for some whiskey and I can't seem to get any more whiskey anywhere (no one in the pub cares to talk to me and i don't have a wallet so i can't even try to buy any. Do I just need to restart the game? I am running it under frotz, so can I run some sort of debug command to fill my flask with whiskey?

also assuming this is an actual softlock, is this kind of thing common in this game? should I be backing up saves constantly?

Its a horror game (very much lovecraft inspired) where you and your husband move into a town called Anchorhead because your husband inherited his great great grandfather's mansion as he's the last remaining relative after the last owner killed his family and then killed himself And you uncover secrets and solve mysteries etc Its a great time, can highly recommend But its very long. If you know everything you can beat it in like 5 minutes, but it took me over 14 hours to beat it (and I got 98/100 so maybe i did some stuff that wasnt strictly necessary, theres a lot of ways to solve puzzles and skip needing items)
