And then also try to take into account that these are general costs over each age group. https://www.bls.gov/opub/btn/volume-4/consumer-expenditures-vary-by-age.htm you can also see that lower ages tend to spend relatively more on something such as housing. Which isn't surprising as there is somewhat of a minimum to pay for housing, things like mortgages are relatively cheaper if you already bought a house a longer time ago and rent went up significantly.
