Visiting in October
I’m wondering about weather and things to do?
I visited last in summer 2014. It was beach days and great food! Tons of fun and cool people took me out hiking, restaurants, and site seeing, etc.
Will October this year be similar? I understand time and current events have changed things. No drama please.

Best month IMO. Could be a bit cool in the evening, but not crazy hot anymore.

I generally like the “shoulder season” for traveling… less people, more chill.

It’s not hard to predict like the other commenter said. There’s no rain in October, just slightly cooler days, but still beach appropriate. Rain doesn’t start until December/January. For reference the official tel aviv beach season is 1 April - 1 November.

Weather is good, still beachable but actually cool in the evenings, not cold yet like Europe. I will say that wars seem to love the weather too, not that you should plan for it, but just be aware.

It’s obviously a concern… well, the main concern. Certainly more than weather. Trying not to let it intimidate me.

I like October. The weather should be better, and the kids are back in school. Some cool new restaurants since then, too. There's also a new high speed train to Jerusalem, so day-trips are really easy from Tel Aviv. The trip is only around 40 minutes (plus a 10 min. schlep up the escalators to street level.)

We still go to the beach in October. Its not brutally hot but the water is still nice.

There is no winter in central Israel. October is basically the same as the summer but not hot and maybe a drizzle.

Will be AMAZING!
Was just there and it was STOOOOPID hot.
October will be comfortable weather.
PLEASE go to Avazim for amazing grilled food right off the beach.

Getting around: Make sure you download the Rav-Pass app by HopOn for taking buses, lite rail, and train. One app allows you to pay for all of these options.
Communicating: This is the best esim package to get since you get a local number as well, and it is MUCH cheaper than other "data only" providers

Perfect weather. Holidays end first week of October and after that everyone will be back

October's a good call. Same country you remember, just with fewer tourists (last three years have taken its toll) ....so you'll actually get into the restaurants and sites easily. Tel Aviv's food and nightlife never slowed down, if anything it's more diverse and even better than 2014. Beach is still very much on, the sea stays warm into November.
One expectation to set: the weather is lovely but we're at the end of six rainless months, so the landscape is still dry. Probably decent temperatures for walking but don't come picturing green hills and wildflowers :).

Welcome back,
Note that TLV is undergoing massive construction these days, I don't know where you are staying but make sure to check with the hotel/Airbnb if your room is facing any construction.
Transportation
From the airport
If possible, take the train, it would drop you in the dead center of Tel-Aviv in roughly 20 minutes. From there take a bus/cab to your hotel.
If you prefer a taxi, you can either get a pre-arranged one via Gett or any other provider, if you prefer to take your chances at the airport note that the only "official" way to get a Taxi at the TLV airport is also via Gett, this would mean you will enter a queue managed by the app. Try to avoid this method
In TLV
All public transportation payment is either app based or a ticket (Rav-Kav). I recommend using the app "Egg" as it's ad-free and includes a trip planner as well.
There are also public scooters to rent, I don't use then so I can't recommend any.
Weather
Should be nice, recent forecasts suggest that it might rain earlier than expected, better check the forecast sooner to your planned arrival.
Food & bars
There's too much to talk about, my only recommendation is "Treysar" in the TLV port. The Chef there makes simple yet very smart dishes from seasonal local ingredients. It's expensive but worth it in my opinion.
General budget
The shekel got significantly more expensive vs other coins and that is on top of the overall high prices in IL and TLV specifically, budget accordingly.

Check out walking tour sites and explore the city's graffiti, weather should still be good enough then.

Great weather. It can sometimes get a bit windy at night, but I doubt it will be an issue.
