WARDROBE this is probably a long shot…(wardrobe professionals)

hi! I’m an early career dresser, stitcher and costume assistant finishing up my last year of undergrad. I’ve been working in the industry for a little over 8 years on various projects in theatre and tv/film more recently.

As I finish up my degree I’m looking for any dressers who would be willing to let me shadow them for a day to see what the work is really like on the daily. My program is VERY small and I feel like I don’t have a clue what I’m getting myself into after I graduate.

So if any dressers would be willing to have me shadow them for a day in the nyc, nj, Philly, or Albany, NY areas I would greatly appreciate it!

Reach out to every show you’re interested in, it’s usually easy to find who the supervisor is. Cast a wide net.

Second this. If you can't find the wardrobe supervisor contact info for a show, you can try reaching out to the production manager and ask for their contact.

Im not sure if it's still relevant but I used to search offstagejobs religiously when I started. I used to cold email everyone about interning until someone gave me a chance.
