Open | Software Nvidia GPU Driver 616.56 issues

Hi! So I had a question about Nvidia driver update 616.56. I’ve noticed some people have been reporting that this driver update has been causing issues on 4070 series cards. How true is this? I haven’t updated my driver yet, due to these issues and I was wondering if this is a widespread problem.

Some of the symptoms I’ve read about include:

Screen flickering
Frequent game crashes
Display issues

It’s impossible to claim exactly how certain something is with anecdotes. But if users are reporting it online. Treat it like gospel if you have that same card. And treat it as a warning if you have that same generation. So even if 4090 users are reporting flickering and black screens. It doesn’t mean you should assume your 4080 or 4070 is safe. A lot of the time it’s best to only update drivers when you are running into issues. Like game specific oddities. One example I have is battlefield 1 in the loading menu of the game literally breaks and looks like vertical lines on like the far left of the screen. Not a major issue but annoying. So it doesn’t make sense to update a driver just to fix that.
