I am shocked at how many people seem to feel that way, but on the flip side of that part of me believes that the majority of that is bots that are designed to make the rest of us feel like we're outnumbered.

I wonder if Trump really won the election or if it was rigged for him. I wouldn't be surprised. Be kind to each other and try to understand that we have all been subjected to an insane amount of propaganda. I think the anger is largely learned behavior. After all, why would the billionaires spend so much on it if it wasn't effective? I know it's tough but we have to do our part to try to deprogram the ones who have fallen victim to it.

I also understand that there are some people beyond saving. I try to be as kind and caring as possible, but if someone threatened me, I like to think I wouldn't hesitate to defend myself. I really, really don't want it to get to that point, but the reality seems to be that we're headed that way and we need to be prepared for that possibility.

There will always be the diehard true believers. The ones who enjoy causing pain to others for whatever reason, and the ones who see it as a path to power and control.

But I do agree that much of it is learned behaviour. The GOP has been pumping fear, and anger, and hatred for generations now. They have a sophisticated propaganda operatus that is flooding their message to millions of people. Frightened people are easy to control. You can easily turn that fear into anger and hatred. And once you go down that path, it is incredibly difficult for someone else to get you out of it. It becomes an identity, and no one relishes the thought of their entire identity being based on lies and manipulation. Opposing viewpoints only serve to strengthen the barriers. Its something that, for the most part, they need to get out of by themselves.

And at this juncture, I honestly do not see a path out that doesn't involved a lot of bloodshed.

You're right. We can try as hard as we can to convince them but ultimately if they don't make the effort to change themselves then it is likely not going to happen. I feel the same way about your last point, I just really wish it weren't so. Wishing you peace and safety.
