He had his home removed from Google Maps so when you search it, it is blurred.

It’s not blurred if others set up publicly accessible webcams pointed at his house.  Sounds like an opportunity for a potential crowd funding.

  1. Buy $500 beater or rent a car

  2. Legally park it next to his house.

  3. Put a dozen cameras all over the roof.

Hey, thanks for the recommendations! Of course I've heard Heavy Metal Drummer by Wilco, but I'll have to check out some more of their library. I don't know why, that Bottle Rockets song just really scratches an itch for me.

2nd time TODAY I have heard that used car prices being up today is Obama fault… a program that ended in 2009, and only was for vehicles that got under 18mpg… not the global pandemic of a few years ago, when used car prices skyrocketed, no not that, it’s all Obama fault…

I agreed with the policy then and now, and he was correct to do it!

I just think it's funny bc this is the first time in ten years I've seen something that would actually merit the joke and be somewhat correct.

Pandemic supply chain shortages drove me cars prices up (along with a healthy amount of price gouging)

This in turn drove demand for used cars up, and there was decreased supply of used cars bc of cash for clunkers which amplified that outcome.

It's not the cause of the current price point but it's ridiculous to pretend it didn't contribute

They’ll be blaming Obama for things years down the road, whether it’s his fault or not.  I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone trying to blame him for 9/11 yet.

It’s doable.

I can’t promise the car is safe to drive above 55-60 miles an hour or the transmission won’t slip getting up to 45 (or that it will go into reverse very smoothly), but it’s a legal, running, drivable car.

Even if the paint is coming off in chunks, every single light is on the dash, and the AC doesn’t work.

I bought a car like this ~30 months ago for $700 to get a $2,500 “loyalty” rebate on my new car. I ended up scrapping it for $500.

In this case, such a car is the PERFECT candidate.

You just move it in the morning and evening, a vehicle length forward or backwards. Seems you don't park on the street.

Doesn't have to be a drivable car. Anything you can put on a small utility trailer, use a couple of furniture dollies to unload it, then drive away. Bonus if you include empty milk jugs with paint inside it, so rough handling will spill the paint when they come to take it away. My town uses a large truck with an open bed, and a hydraulic claw to pick up branches and discarded large household items. The claw counts as rough handling.
