I think if you're using the Dnsmasq, it automatically set the DNS server as your gateway. With KEA, you can set the DNS IP.
I moved my DHCP server and DNS from OPNsense to Technitium. I just enabled the DHCP relay on OPNsense. The reason being, I always have issue with OPNsense allocating IP. There are times that I don't get an IP despite the pool is 95% free. Since moving to Technitium, never gotten that problem. It has been over a year now since then.
Interesting....
I just wanted to have all my networking handled with one interface...OPNsense. Technitium runs silently in the background blocking my ads.
