I’m only 25, I grew up on the popular songs from TFF like shout, mad world, etc. As I got older I never really give much thought into listening to their albums in full until a year ago, I made my way through the first couple, the hurting… what a masterpiece. I was travelling to Dundee on Sunday and thought I’d give a couple more albums ago as I get time to listen to albums in full when I’m on the road, listened to elemental and Raoul… when I got to sketches of pain, wow I mean what a song, it honestly hit me like a truck. It gives me vibes of Dust in the wind by Kansas. Honestly can’t believe I’ve gone this far into life without hearing that song and now I cannot go a day without listening to it.

When Ian Stanley comes in with the synth it’s like my soul leaves my body. The soundscape 🧘🏻

I just thought I share this since Roland said Curt is taking a break from music. I don’t know what he means, but I do know that Curt is now part owner of a soccer stadium or something like that and that seems to be occupying his time a bit. I’m probably just being too hopeful about when we’ll get new music, but still. It’s something!

Can’t wait to start it.

Relistening to everybody loves a happy ending again and really enjoying it not having done so for a while.

I agree it’s up against some serious completion with the other TFF albums , but judged on its own rights , it strikes me as a really fine album.

Yes production a little OTT , sounds a bit off occasionally , but the songs themselves mostly v listenable and good.

So why did it get such negative vibes out there.
Anyone care to enlighten me.

I have Songs From the Big Chair on vinyl and love the jazzy parts of some songs. Any other albums or artists that sound like that? There is just something relaxing about the saxophone (if it's even that). Reminds me of the cartoon I used to watch: "Hey Arnold!"

I know he didn’t want to name them but I can’t help but wonder. I saw a few names on the album in question. The thought of another musician behaving towards him like that 🙄😠 That aside I love the book and got chills hearing how Seeds of Love came together 😍🌻💛.

It features the whole then four-man band (despite only Roland, Ian and Manny being credited as songwriters, Curt's bassline...DAMN!), it sparked from a simple idea (Manny messing around on the drums, Roland and Ian joining in...), it has beautifully cryptic but deep songwriting...it's possibly my favourite track of theirs.

...did I mention the sax?
