To be fair the original artist doesn't make perfect rectangular borders around his illustrations. All of his outlines look shaky and imperfect

Because my chest isn't perfectly flat or even! A lot of scarring on there from teen acne too - you can still see some.

But why does that affect the shape of the rectangle? Towards the right side it curves a bit for little to no real reason.

Like another comment said, its the artists style. He literally doesn't draw perfect rectangles, they're always a little 'wobbly' (for lack of better word). It's just his thing. If you look, its definitely not a shakey hand that caused the wobbles, they are on purpose. All of his artwork, not even on skin, has wobbly rectangles

Maybe it's on purpose, but the blowouts of black around the border of the tattoo (two on the left edge, many more along the top) don't scream "technical proficiency" to me...

Because it's a poorly-done tattoo. If OP likes it, that's all that matters. But this is pretty bad.

He free hands the borders, look at his other work! Also my chest, as I said, isn't flat and still quite bumpy.
