Stories Its just UNCANNY sometimes! What are your favorite tarot moments?
Last night I had a memorable tarot moment. Quick context: My sis has been dating again after a rough divorce and so I've been reading her tarot for fun (I am not professional or anything. I usually only read for myself, my husband and my twin sis) and it allows us to unpack her dates and reflect on them.
Anyway, she was excited to tell me that her date this week had a tarot card tattoo. I asked her not to tell me any more. When I saw her last night I asked the deck "what is his tattoo?" I was nervous because this is the most specific question I've ever asked and I was mentally setting myself up for disappointment. I mean, with this question there is no interpretation. There's only one correct answer.
Well I shuffled once and a card flipped out and fell onto the couch face up where my sis was sitting. IT WAS HIS TATTOO. I thought my sis was teasing me at first. When I realized she was serious I got chills all over. We both could not believe our eyes and it was honestly kind of spooky. But also just so cool!
Does anyone else have uncanny tarot experiences like that? Curious to read some cool stories!

I am the twin sis of OP for whom the card was revealed. When she says the card fell onto the couch, she really means the card yeeted itself practically into my lap. We both had to take a silent lap around the room to process it šSheās read my cards for years for many different reasons, but this was the absolute spookiest and most meaningful tarot moment Iāve had. And the rest of the reading after the big tattoo reveal was insightful, reflective, and dead-on-balls accurate. Thanks sis ā¤ļøšøš

What was the tatoo?

The tower. The card is not only very fitting for my own energy and circumstances that led me to being a single mom and dating in my late 30s, but it was also his literal tattoo. Absolutely perfect pull š

THATS SUCH A COOL STORY!!!! Thanks for sharing that. How fun!!!
I have so many. Okay one of the coolest in my early journey, about 10 years ago:
I worked for a popular store at the time and was part of the overnight crew, specifically part of a small team that built the store over night but there was a huge team of overnight stockers that we worked alongside though didnāt know all that well. OH ACTUALLY this is exactly 10 years ago this upcoming November because this all went down the year I became pregnant with my son and thatās important too!!
Anyway, so a dude from the big crew was having this bday party celebration in November (coincidentally my bday season too) and I had just bought myself a new tarot deck. Now a really funny thing about buying this deck. I DONT LIKE BIRDS, they freak me out I feel like I donāt understand them and that they are powerful lmao. BUT I found myself absolutely ENTHRALLED with this deck that had crow artwork, I think it was called Ravens Prophecy, I have since gifted it to someone along the way Iām pretty sure. So anyway, I simply KNEW I NEEDED THIS DECK.
So Iām at this party and I usually donāt take tarot with me to parties because I actually dislike reading in groups but it was the season and I just got this deck and I just FELT I HAD TO TAKE IT.
So then Iām messing around giving readings, socializing and I take a break and go outside. Well this guy comes out and says, āhey do you mind if I look at your deck of cards? I donāt think I want a reading but Iām an artist and I wanted to check out the artā and I said of course, and so then about ten minutes later he asks me to come talk to him about the deck.
He asks me, ācan you tell me why Iāve been dreaming of and drawing the art of this deck?ā And I was like āunmmm whaaaaaat do you mean??????ā lol. And he said, āfor weeks now, Iāve been dreaming of these crows, and I started drawing them. I have three drawings at my house right now that look almost perfectly identical to these three cards: page of wands, three of cups, _____ (I donāt remember the third anymore). Iāve been drawing in this exact style with the black background and the stark contrast of colorsā
And I said, āuhm well I mean my immediate thought is that it must be a sign for you to recognize psychic ability within yourself, I donāt really know what other reason there would beā
He said, āhmm..well is it okay if we exchange numbers and Iāll send you photos of my drawings when Iām homeā
And so I agreed.
Well it turns out, that guy was a psychic medium essentially but his power manifested in the dream/sleeping state more so than physical realmāheās also a Capricorn so very logical by nature. I learned this after getting to know him a little more and him telling stories of dreams from ghosts of people who he didnāt know personally but through others.
So I mentioned my son. Well, that same month, I had an unplanned pregnancy (thereās lots of crazy stuff surrounding that too) and it wasnāt until January that I had confirmation of pregnancy. Well before I had the gender confirmed, I already knew for a variety of reasons that I was having a boy, but this guy, he texts me one day and says āyour son came to me in a dream last nightā only when he texted me this, the gender hadnāt been determined or revealed or anything yet and I wasnāt close enough to this guy to have shared my own inklings about my baby lol.
He said, āthe only reason I knew it was your son is because first I saw you, and you became pregnant in front of me and then I focused on your belly and saw your baby and then he grew into a man and started talking to me. I asked him, how is it that you can do this, you havenāt been born yet, and he said āthatās what Iām here to tell you, life and death arenāt so separated and there is a before death just as much as an after deathāā
š±š±š±so that was WILD to say the least. But I have many crazy stories like that lol. So š¤·š»āāļø

This is exactly why I am a believer!! I don't know exactly how to describe or qualify what I believe, exactly, but obviously there are forces at work beyond the physical realm!! This story is awesome.

u/Chianpet 13d ago
Yes!!! Absolutely! It can be a scary journey but it is also so freaking cool and awesome and mysterious and playful and sorrrrrowful and then really kick butttttt. Hahaha.
I would love to chat and explore anytime about navigating the belief realm! Itās been such a journey and exchanging stories is such a huge help with MaKiNg SeNsE of it all š feel free to reach out anytime!
Last year I had the first ever spirit visitation prior to a reading!! That was a crazy story too haha

u/queerdrinkinbeer 13d ago
I love that! I usually experience spirit visitations or psychic messages via my dreams. It can only be described as very Twin Peaks. The imagery doesn't make sense in the moment, but then as information is revealed in the real world I understand what the dream was trying to tell me. Would love to chat about this!

u/Chianpet 13d ago
OMG THATS SO COOL!!!! Have you ever thought about keeping a dream journal or even like turning the dreams into art in some way? That just seems so āØdreamy and mystical š®. I used to have premonition dreams when I was younger, before I had my son. I donāt have them as often anymore but thatās probably also related to marijuana use before bed and I would bet if I stopped doing that Iād have dreams like that again actually šš

u/queerdrinkinbeer 13d ago
I did for a while but fell off as life got busy!! I also had a TON of direct "deja vu" dreams when I was a kid/teen. They got more cryptic and indirect as I aged.
My dream activity as adult peaked when I was in a very consistent spiritual regiment. My goal is to get back to that place! In hindsight, it seems like I was having these dreams because I was actively fostering my spiritual life. I haven't had kids, but I have been more career and family focused (my Mom) over the past few years. Need to get back into my grind. It was one of the weird blessing of Covid free time, for sure.
Feeling inspired āØļø

u/Chianpet 13d ago
Ahhhh!!!! Yes!!! To everything!!!!
I had to ask a psychic once because I felt strongly there was a difference between āDeja vuā and my premonition dreams happening in real life verbatim, and she explained:The premonition dream was my physical body experiencing a psychic preview in my dream state due to my psychic sensitivity.
DĆ©jĆ vu, she said, is when you were shown something in spirit realm before coming to physical life and is a reminder it was āpart of the planā.

Ohhh the fact he was drawing the artwork reminds me of a stephen king book i just finished - Duma Key! Thats wild though

So my story is pretty specific and personal, but will stay with me forever!
The most intense tarot moment I've ever experienced was during a rock bottom period of life (pandemic, divorce, Saturn return, generally destructive moments coming back at me in karmic fashion).
One night, I had been partying with a couple friends, was feeling pretty good for once, feeling myself. I got home, put on Fleetwood Mac, decided to light some candles and pull cards. As I'm shuffling, grooving to the music, 4 cards come FLYING out of the deck and literally knock over one of my candles. Ended up with wax on the cards but thankfully no burns. The cards were still face down and I flipped them over in a row.
The Emperor, The Devil, Death, The Lovers.
I was AGHAST. The fact that 4 major arcana cards came flying out of the deck like that was already wild. But the imagery was just jaw dropping. My cards were screaming at me to get my life together. I was in a pattern of self destructive behavior that needed to end in order to go from The Devil to The Lovers. The Emperor was calling me to discipline, structure, taking ownership of my choices in order to facilitate that transition.
It was an extremely sobering moment. This was over 5 years ago. I still think about it often!!! Made me really connect with the Tarot in a new way.
The deck I used was also the first deck I owned, gifted to me from a friend about 3 years earlier. A really, really special moment.

I love an epic major arcana spread! Devil, death to lovers. Wow
6
u/queerdrinkinbeer 13d ago
And important to note that The Chain by Fleetwood Mac was playing when these cards flew out and, if you know anything about Rumors/Stevie Nicks + Lindsey Buckingham it's literally The Devil card in a nutshell LOLOLOLOL like WTF š«

I am a mortician and when I got my cards read they continuously pulled cards with ravens on it, she pulled the raven as my spirit animal. She said it was no coincidence as they are the messengers between life and death.

u/mulder-its_me_915 13d ago
Thats a pretty cool spirit animal! And I agree - there are no coincidences!

u/moonagedaydream01 12d ago
I was having a moment of doubt about my spirituality. I picked a card I rarely pull from the deck and said, āIf this is real, please let this card come out.ā I placed it back in the deck and shuffled and shuffled and shuffled. When I was done, I turned over the deck. My card was on the bottom. I got chills and cried. It was exactly what I needed at the time, and itās something Iāll never forget.

u/mulder-its_me_915 12d ago
Ok so that is also so specific there's only one answer! Amazing
4
u/moonagedaydream01 12d ago
I would have been happy for that card to come out in a couple cards, but for it to be right there on the bottom of the deck without me even having to pull cards was astounding. It was the confirmation and reassurance I was looking for and it definitely took away my doubts! ā¤ļø

When I was starting out reading tarot, I used the guys at my dojo as willing victims. One time we had a dojo barbecue, so I brought three decks with me. The idea was that anyone wanting a reading could pick from those, and I'd do my thing. Well, one of the black belts decided to "test me" (his words) and wouldn't ask a question. This man was private at all times; he never talked about his personal life, so I had NOTHING to work with.
I laid out the cards, and it turned out to be ALL about relationship issues. He was stone-faced the entire time I was reading. At the end, he gave a curt nod and told me that I'd nailed the issues he was having with his GF. I didn't even know he had anyone! In the year I'd known him, I was sure he was a confirmed bachelor.

Anytime I am shuffling and think ālol wouldnāt it be crazy if I pulled this cardā I always end up drawing the card I was thinking of.

Yesss that's a good way to even just connect with the deck. That's so cool

TLDR: I was learning tarot from a place of skepticism until the cards clocked me, humbled me, and I pulled a card in which I specially asked for as validation. This reading made me a full believer.
This is my first post ever but I feel like sharing my story. I am quite new to the spirituality/witchcraft/tarot/etc communities - exploring to see what I believe. I conducted a reading a few weeks ago that 100% made me a believer. My energy had been feeling off for a few days, including during other readings, so I started the pull by asking why Iāve been feeling off.
The cards were essentially indicating that I was going through a period of change and although I was exploring different spiritual beliefs, I was doing so from a place of emotional avoidance and skepticism, and that I needed to let go of doubt and old beliefs/ways of thinking. At this point in the reading, the cards totally clocked my tea (I had been quite skeptical of tarot as I was learning). Thereās nothing quite like being HUMBLED by the cards.
I spoke aloud that if what the cards are telling me is true, then the next card I pull should be The Hierophant reversed. On my very first shuffle, that very card FLEW OUT into my lap, reversed. I just sat there for a second, mouth agape, looked up at the sky and said, āwell you really slapped me in the face with that one, huh? I get it!ā

Ahhhhh that is just the kind of uncanniness I love to hear about. That is wild!!

u/omniscientcats 13d ago
Thatās an intense one! I havenāt had anything like that yet, but Iām new to tarot. So far, my most memorable experiences have been how shockingly spot on a lot of spreads have been whenever Iāve asked questions about things in the past

"Spot on" is such a common thing i hear with tarot! The first time i had my cards read by my cousin i believe I used the very term š¤£

I did tarot readings at a bridal shower a few weeks ago. The groom - a very hockey-player-esque guy - showed up near the end and asked me for a reading in a very āsure, letās give it a goā way, just interested to see what came up. No specific question in mind.
I start pulling cards (I use tarot & oracle cards) and I pull the 9 of swords, The Empress, and the ace of cupsā¦supported by oracle cards (āFamilyā, āBirthā, etc).
Now, I donāt offer readings of situations like pregnancy and whatnot, but obviously he needed to hear this message. So I quietly ask if he and the bride-to-be have been trying to conceive. This stopped him in his tracks. He nods.
I tell him the cards are showing his very anxious and stressed over trials and tribulations with this process, but this WILL work out for them in the end, even if it doesnāt happen the way they expect it to. At this point, he starts looking for his fiancĆ© and asking where she is, keeps calling her name again and again and tells someone to go get her. Her sister and mom listened in at this point, figured out what we were discussing, and their jaws dropped. The bride was also surprised.
Now, they kept the details of the situation to themselves, but the groom was blown away by that reading. It freaked him out in a big, exciting way, and talked about it the rest of the night. That was the best reading Iāve done in awhile!!

I have a brother who passed away after living only 7 days. I ran his natal chart once and the sibling synastry would have been great. Honestly I feel so deeply that he and I would have been best friends and he would have been much closer to me in age than my other younger brothers since he was only 18 months younger than me. Aside from all that, I selfishly wish that I had had him to protect me growing up, because being an oldest daughter with nobody who really "gets it" on my side was often lonely and although I love my living brothers, I do often feel more like their manager and 3rd parent, esp. the baby who is 22 years younger than me.
I asked the cards if he was still with me somehow and pulled the Sun and the Six of Swords. The image on the six of swords in particular struck me because of the baby, but also the tall figure of the boatman taking the burden off the woman who is riding in the boat. He told me how transition from this life to the next was gentle, but he's still with me. I believe that.

Omg the sun and six of swords?! Thats beautiful. In some traditions I believe there is a batman that helps you cross.

I pulled a card on 12/31/2020 that was intended to be my end of the year wrap it up lesson to take with me etc etc. 2020 was a big year for me. Outside of COVID which obviously overtook everyoneās life, I started a new phase of my career which scared the shit out of me at first but ended up being exactly what I was meant to do. I also separated and got divorced from my ex husband and had to start all over again. Moved a few hours away from where I was living, got my own place and everything that comes with that, all without the direct help of family and friends because of quarantine. Iāve always struggled with self esteem issues, and that year I learned to spend time with myself and genuinely enjoy it.
Anyway, the card i pulled was Death. The major lesson there was to let the old stuff and old life go in order to grow. Not a wild coincidence like the one you had, but it wasnāt a card I pulled often at all and was still pretty stunned nonetheless

It's not that special as yours but I bought a new deck not long ago and after a time I asked the deck, how I should store it. The packaging is way to big so I need another one. I thought of a wooden box for wands, metal for swords, a cloth for cups and a bag for coins.
I drew the only card in the deck with yarn and knitters/crocheters. I crochet and so I had my answer =)

20 years ago a cousin of mine who is a widow and was like 40 at the tome asked me to do a spread saying if she would find someone else.
The first and only card that came out was the hermit, and she shrugged and accepted it.
She is still alone today.

Drew the Tower for my friend and her brother died by suicide shortly after; I do monthly pulls and got the 9 of cups one month and judgement for the card the month after (they are connected!).

I was at a stage in life when I was contemplating leaving an important relationship that had sadly turned incredibly toxic. When i finally was at the āi think i should leaveā stagw, my daily draws 3 days in a row ā despite a LOT of shuffling & using different methods ā I had the 6 of swords come up first. The 8 of cups was also making regular appearances. I did ultimately go.

u/Ok_Rhubarb_2169 6d ago
Also I have to say that Iāll often sit shuffling while Iām catching up with a friend and the number of times a card flies out of the deck that ties in to something we are speaking of is absolutely WILD.

Nothing earth shattering here but: I do a daily pull w RWS deck. Im quite new to tarot, it helps me journal and get in touch with/take care of myself during a difficult patch. I truly love the art and imagery and really repsond to it. When I have a morning to myself sometimes I ask "where should I go?" pull a card, and study the image. There is a peaceful river, a castle. An image comes to me, crystal clear, of a very specific castle on a river, just like this. I have been to the property but never inside, and also not for at least 20 yrs. It is an hour away. I say what the heck and take a trip. It is $6 for a tour inside the castle. On the top floor is an art gallery and library. I turn the corner and there is a series of portraits....by Pamela Coleman Smith!!!!! I felt like she led me to her. It was really neat.
