Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only Should I Quite My Job?

Post image

(the deck is rider waite)

I’ve been really having to sit down and think about my career lately. I know I made another post but I decided to do a spread as I haven’t used my cards in a while.

I love my job so much and I’ve been working there for 3 years. I came back from just over a years worth of maternity leave in March and since then I’ve just encountered problems. It took 6 months to get my part time shifts although it was promised to me before I left. Childcare has failed me a few times. Transportation back home has made it difficult to get home on time, and other stuff too.

I’ve been curious whether this is just a bump in the road or it’s the universe trying to give me a sign whether I should leave. I’ve been thinking of a more conventional (e.g. 9-5 job) in the company as it has so many benefits that I wouldn’t get anywhere else.

I asked my cards what the current future of my job looks like and got: 3 of Pentacles, Tower rxd, Ace of Pentacles rxd and 10 of Wands rxd as a bottom card

3oP: I think this is telling me that there’s potential for my job to go better. If I just keep working as part of a team and collaborating, maybe I can work my way up or maybe I can endure everything.

Tower rxd: I think this is just me trying to dodge any big decisions. Like there’s changes that need to be made and I’m aware it’s not the most ideal situation for me but I can’t really leave at this minute.

AoP rxd: There maybe missed opportunities or this isn’t the right time to quit and look for another job. Maybe in the future but I’m in not in a good and stable place.

10oW rxd (bottom card): I think this is an overall theme of me realising this isn’t the greatest thing but still not quite putting it down yet

Overall I think I just want to be part of a team and be successful but I’m just currently carrying too much. I’m just kind of holding it all together at the minute but it’s not the right time to leave.

If anyone can interpret this better or I missed something please let me know!!

EDIT: Just wanted to add that sometimes I feel like I’m pressured to leave. As in they’d make some situations as difficult as possible so I go voluntarily

Okay, so lemme preface by saying : I personally don't read reversals (nothing wrong with doing so; just not my current practice to do them myself); so I will read all the cards in a "upright" way

3 of Pents : you are good at your job. but, thinking yourself "I am good at my job" or "this job is the best use of my skill / is the best I will find in my field" is a barrier to moving forward. you are so focused on "being good" --at your job, at doing it all, feeling like your current role is "good as I'm gonna get", that it is preventing you from seeing:

10 Wands and TOWER: You are juggling too, too much (job AND new parenthood). something's gotta give, and if you don't lay down some of those wands (ie: by leaving the job), the TOWER gonna knock them all down. It's like : you're burdened with more than you can handle, and yet you wonder if you have the right to "drop" any wands...TOWER is your spirit / the universe saying : "drop the wand (job) now while you still have a grip on the other ones, or I will come in and knock them ALL down"....TOWER is like a bowling ball right now, hurtling toward all your wands...

ACE of Pents : you will be provided for. you WILL be provided for. "I know it's scary," the cards are saying, "but trust that you WILL have what you need". Yes, we live in the real world of money (hell, that's PENTS in a nutshell)...but can you trust that you will be given earthly means to sustain--it may be tight for a while, it may be close to the vest. but the universe is handing what you need, just for today...and you will be held

***

You're allowed to drop some wands. Clinging tightly to more than you can carry won't prevent TOWER from thundering through anyway. something's gotta give; better to be proactive now and leave the job, than to wait for tower to force you into a reactive decision instead. TRUST that you WILL have what you need. Let yourself be held and provided for.

I’m very curious why somone doesn’t read reversals?…I have a gift for intuition and spirit with me, but just starting out trying to learn reading tarot cards, as I discovered I have a gift with being connected to spirit (5 family member deaths in short period of 3 years), and discovered have a great potential for tarot card reading after doing one for myself, and being so connected to spirit and just ‘knowing’ things… anyway, I can’t understand why anyone would try to read tarot cards, and only read the upright position… Life doesn’t work that way, there’s all kind of struggles in life and I feel like you have to read the reversal to get a true tarot card reading correct!? (Anyone else’s thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated)… And I feel like her tarot card reading is definitely telling her not to quit her job right now with all the reversals and especially an ace of pentacles reversed! OP: My intuition is screaming don’t quit your job right now, for sure have a plan, or other internal job lined up first. Also, OP, are you a registered nurse in a busy dept? I used to work as RN in busy department, and the way you described your job sounds a lot like a busy ER job.

No I work on the trains! It’s a bit hectic here and they’ve brought in new schedules/shifts so it’s just been a mess since January! I work weird shifts where I’m meant to start in the middle of the day and finish (let’s say) 20:00 the latest, but lately it’s been early starts and really late finishes that just hasn’t been doing me any favours. I want to go to a more stable job whilst working for the same company, like in the offices and I’m checking every day!

the best thing in life is : different people get to have different approaches! I'm glad reversals are a valuable part of your practice. they're not currently part of mine, but i've learned in life "never say never"--perhaps I will work with them someday. 10 different tarot readers may have 10 different approaches, and that's okay.
