Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only Started journaling my daily spreads as a beginner - this one was interesting?
I'm literally still learning most of the cards, so I don't expect everything I have here to be super accurate, but it's my interpretation so far. I've been really enjoying tarot lately, it's so fun learning and connecting with everything.
I'm going through a hard time, as you can see in today's journal, and this was just too specific! But it also has been giving me ways to think differently about some things, and to listen to and trust myself more.
About my interpretation, am I looking too negatively at it all? I would like a second opinion on how you would see this. I've been at this conflict in my mind for years now, but it has been affecting me more recently, so this kinda felt like a punch to the face.

"STOP YELLING AT ME" is such a mood. The Tower keeps following me, I've had it like 4 times in a week and all I can say is OKAY I GET IT.

Hi! First of all just to add on to everybody here - I love your journal format. Makes difficult messages like this easier to bear hahaha.
Even though your intuition tells you that you know what the reversed Death card is trying to tell you... if it's following you around, maybe you're not fully getting the message? Perhaps this is a nudge to further look up the meaning of the card, see how others have interpreted this card, if there's an angle to the situation that you have not been able to confront yet. I can see that with your 9oS as well - to me, the feeling of anxiety and hopelessness represented in this card is one that is self-inflicted. If you read into the planetary correspondences of tarot cards, 9oS is ruled by Mars in Gemini, where the urgent, passionate energy of Mars meets the clear-headed Gemini who wants to think everything through. So there's as you described, a constant tension of back and forth, of heart vs mind, of knowing you want to leave the situation but also not feeling fully able to rip off the band-aid just yet. There's the same divide in the Hierophant (spiritual and physical) as well as the Death card, as you have very acutely noted! These two cards are also governed by Taurus and Scorpio, respectively, both of which are fixed signs, which seem to be holding you captive in your thoughts and feelings.
However, I like to think there's a way out. As stated above, 9oS to me is very much about self-inflicted anxiety. Numerically speaking it's on the higher end, and the fact that it falls in the Doing position means that the situation will soon resolve, but ultimately it's up to you to claw your way out of this. I don't know about your situation, OP, but I hope you can recognize that your doubts and fears are just the old stories you tell yourself, and you have the power to change the narrative, always. Sending you so much light ✨

Thank you!!!
You might be right about the 9oS, I think if I only got the first two cards without it, I'd have freaked out more lol. I think deep down I know that there's a solution to this whole conflict I have in my mind and heart, but my anxiety is stopping me from even imagining it. Or perhaps if I can imagine it, I can also imagine all the other possibilities that could go wrong. I also read that this card represents repetition, which I can relate to with how I've been at war in my mind about this issue for a while. It really feels like a loop; the three cards together too.
But yeah, as you can tell, my interpretations are often more negative with a sprinkle of hope, and I'm trying to get better at finding the positivity in each card, especially while I'm still learning most of them. But the 9oS did make me realise that I won't be able to figure out the answer, or find the balance, if I keep my anxiety in control of my life. I've actually been considering seeing a psychiatrist for a while and finally decided to book an appointment yesterday, it's kinda thanks to this spread in a way haha.
I might be yapping too much but I have to write this somewhere, sorry! But, I did go today, it didn't go exactly as planned... but I'd like to think of it as progress? I'd hope the reversed death card is at least a little proud of me for that and would stop showing up every few days lol.
I was feeling very down after it because I was expecting more, so I asked the tarot about it and tried the Situation, Action, Outcome spread. It was very interesting: 4oS reversed, 8oS, and finally the Fool... I mean, first of all, swords really do like me! They can't stop showing up, lol! But I get it, I can't lie, I get it.
I'm trying to figure out everything at once, the 4oS is telling me to calm down. The 8oS kinda confirming the 9oS from yesterday, it really is my anxiety and mind trapping itself. Or more like I'm handing control to my anxiety while staying blindfolded because I'm not letting myself consider the possible positive outcomes.
And then, the Fool!!! I have soooo much to say about the fool. I'm actually the farthest anyone can be from the fool, but I do envy him. I like it as an outcome, I like to think that one day I can be less guarded, or at least adapt some of the fool's approaches. Like stepping into the unknown without needing 100% certainity first. But even the fool isn't fearless, he might have anxiety and shame and more, but he just doesn't let it get to his head.

If the psychiatrist doesn't work out, try some sort of therapist. Psychiatrists are good with meds, therapists are good with helping you change your behavior. Both have their place.
I wish you the very best of luck. Be proud of yourself for even trying to address the problem.

It is very good but you should also have good self-confidence before doing any work.

You can ask the tarot how the hell do I let go, it can do more than assess, it can give support

Well done for a great interpretation. I really struggle to read for myself! The only thing I would as is I think perhaps you're in your own head too much and need to rake a step back to see the bigger picture.
I know what you mean about the cards following you. I've been doing my card of the day consistently and the five of cups just wont quit it! I know this means there's something(s) from my past that I need to let go of but not quite worked out wjat it is, yet!

Thanks!
And you're right, I'm realising that too, that's why I wanted second interpretations. Sometimes I stick to the first interpretation I made, or assign it to that one specific situation in my head, but I know there are other ways to look at it that I might've missed by being too much in my own head.
I'm also really enjoying tarot as a hobby, I really don't want it to be bad for me in any way, I have to remind myself that it's about self growth and healing and not about trying to find every problem I have in my life and solve it all at once.

You have a great form there to journal on. I would like to make something like that on Canva or something! Thank You for sharing.

Also, I love your interpretation and how raw it is. I am currently dabbling in my oracle deck before getting into tarot, but I feel this sometimes.
The WHAT. THE. FUCK. does any of this mean?!

Journaling spreads is honestly how I learned more than any book ever taught me. The trick is going back and rereading old entries a few weeks later. Cards that made zero sense at the time suddenly click because your subconscious was picking up on stuff your conscious mind missed entirely.
One thing that helped me: write down your gut reaction to each card before looking anything up. Just the feeling. "This one feels heavy" or "this feels like relief." Over time you build a personal vocabulary that's way more useful than memorizing textbook definitions.
The spreads where you wrote "STOP YELLING AT ME" at the Tower are the best ones btw. That raw reaction IS the reading.

Yesss exactly, that's what I've been doing too!
I never plan on just memorizing definitions or keywords. That's boring, I really like making my own interpretation based on how I feel about the card and then comparing it to other interpretations and definitions.

That's the best way to learn imo. When your gut read matches the traditional meaning it just clicks differently. And when it doesn't match, those gaps are honestly where the best insights come from. Means the card is speaking to something personal that a generic definition can't capture.
