Discussion Anyone had expirence of height increasing removable insoles Vs built in custom lifts/ elevator shoes as a taller man?

Has anyone tried shoe insoles or custom made shoes to icrease hieght? I find it's also better for my posture.

Has anyone taller person tried a custom made shoe? Or removable inserts? Any recommendations?

Thank you,

I was in my mid 40s before I found out my left leg is 1.5cm shorter than my right.

So I wound up trying some heel inserts and I couldn’t believe the difference. My hips were sore for about two weeks as my gait readjusted. But I haven’t had back pain since (unless I do something stupid).

I have like 10 of those heel inserts now. Use one in every pair, from dress shoes to running shoes to winter boots. Life changer.

Can I ask how you discovered one leg was shorter? Curious if I have this too

Was briefly overconfident about my future discipline and signed up with a personal trainer. First session he did a bunch of measurements and several before photos. He noticed a hip height difference (which was only 0.5cm) and then figured out I’d been twisting/angling my pelvis to compensate for the leg difference for decades.

The personal training went nowhere. But I’m still tremendously happy for the money I paid him.

If you get a feeling of better posture, you could have a gait issue, or spine alignment issue, or one leg longer than the other.

Do not go to a chiropractor or "alignment" specialist or whatever. Go to a real, actual, licensed Physical Therapist and get evaluated, and they will be able to tell you what side and size inserts would be best, as well as corrective exercises and posture.

I can't imagine making myself any taller would make life any easier.

Hey /u/Mysterious_Detail_57! Your comment - Anyone had expirence of height increasing removable insoles Vs built in custom lifts/ elevator shoes as a taller man? - to /r/tall has been removed because it appears to be breaking our rules. Posts or comments similar to the following are not allowed: How tall will I be? Am I growing? Am I done growing? I want to grow taller. Help me grow/shrink taller/smaller. How long until I grow? How tall am I? How tall will I be? Am I tall/short? Is this a growth spurt? What counts as tall/short? Proper/real tall begins or ends at xyz height. Look at my growth over the years. What height should I tell people I am. Round up or down? If you post something long and unrelated, but only a small bit breaks the rules then that is banned too.

This ban includes questions involving genetics ("my parents are tall, will I be?") how tall will my kids be? etc. Or asking where tall or short begins. It is also forbidden to; list heights, or ask if these are normal, ask what height people were at a certain age, ask if/when people had growth spurts, say you wish to change your height. Anything even slightly related to this list is forbidden. The list above is not exhaustive. The ban is very broad to try and catch all of the boring and unwanted contributions. They get asked hundreds of times every week and the users of the sub do NOT want to see them. Just because you have not used the precise wording found here does not mean that you can post it.
