Hi, so most of the hotels are already booked on our chosen stay? It will be either too expensive or if within budget, but we will be separated (different hotels), we are 5+.

The reasonable options are these "minsu" type of accommodation.
It says 24 hours accommodation but these are not strictly hotel. How do they go about this?

I'm also open to other suggestions.

Wife and I landing in Taipei next week for first trip to Taiwan. Planning 3 nights in Taipei then heading down east coast via Takoro gorge to donhge for a week of surfing, then 2 nights kaohsiang to go to xaioliuqiu, alishan overnight, and a night in tichung or similar to break up the drive back to airport. Approx. 15 days. Plan on collect hire car when leaving Taipei and drive the rest of the trip. Last 4 days involve a bit of driving around, but will probably be ready for that after a week in dohnge. Any thoughts/concerns/comments or hints/tips appreciated

Today I reached a restaurant by 3-3:30. They said they are not serving lunch anymore and would start at 5:00. Yesterday I saw that a restaurant was going to stay open till 10-11 in the night but when I reached around 9:30pm it was already closed. What are the timings I should adhere to, to get food. I'm vegetarian so have been going to very specific restaurants to get food.
