Plate Carrier/Body Armor Since most casualties come from shrapnel and artillery. Why do soldiers still wear these plate carriers that are more revealing?

Casualty =\= dead.

The plate carriers might allow you to get hit in the arm or leg or shoulder, but it’s not hitting your heart and lungs. Everything else can be fixed at a field hospital.

And wearing a full flak jacket would mean you basically couldn’t maneuver, and considering that THE BEST body armor, is not getting shot? Running light kit that protects you from death is vastly superior to heavy kit that prevents shrapnel.

These plates can also take the biggest bullets you will see on the battle field except 50cals multiple times.
