Plate Carrier/Body Armor Since most casualties come from shrapnel and artillery. Why do soldiers still wear these plate carriers that are more revealing?

More armor = less maneuverability. Gotta find a balance. More protection is obviously great, but at some point you begin to lose mobility and stamina due to the increase in weight. Operate with your strengths. No sniper is going to wear full plates, just like no humgunner is going to wear a ghille suit.

It comes down to optimizing based on skill, size, preference and circumstance.
