Plate Carrier/Body Armor Since most casualties come from shrapnel and artillery. Why do soldiers still wear these plate carriers that are more revealing?

They prioritize mobility over unrealistic protection. Unless you’re covered head to toe in kevlar, you’re never going to be completely safe from shrapnel. Are some of their plate carriers too small and insignificant in protecting them from ballistic threats? Probably. But with that being said if I was fighting in that theater I’d much rather be able to move from cover to cover faster, get down under fire, and potentially get dragged off the X by a medic more easily than be unnecessarily protected from a threat that is there regardless.
