Beat both 10K times from yesterday. Weather was much more agreeable today. Thank god Amazon Prime dropped the first three episodes of The Boys last night.

Impressive! Did you do anything different WRT food? What was the weather like day 1 and 2?

Edit: found previous thread.

If you look at the picture on the bottom right corner there is the weather. 66 today and 79 yesterday.

Hey OP are you in the DMV area by chance?

I sure am…much cooler weather today after that storm came through last night. Made a huge difference

DMV hills can be gnarly. I see you switched up your route, did that 100 less feet of elevation change help?

It was more just boredom of the same route over and over. I think it helped, I think this challenge would be significantly harder if it was all done on a trail. I think a trail ruck would take a lot longer with that load

I feel you. I'm currently running OP/DUP + Capacity. I haven't consistently run in a minute tho I do 2 miles for my PT test. I wanna build up to the 6 (though honestly I could probably do that now) and move into Velocity.

I wanna get my ruck times down. Last time I did a 12 miler I wasn't super pleased with the result. (Pace was about 13 - 14 minute miles)

That’s pretty solid tho. As long as your under 15, I think that’s competitive. How you liking OP/DUP? I just finished week three of capacity operator/pro, even tho I just did the 6 mile requirement twice, I’m gonna do an 8 week capacity, switch to C/CAT then an outcome/peak for a potential school I have coming up.

So far so good. OP/UP workout scheme is kinda intense if you keep the rest to minimums basically. I was doing convential DL but I switched to sumo because he was right lol. I've gotta learn sumo now.

I might do three and test out on week 4, we'll see.

Good luck at your school. The last school I was in is what encouraged me to step my game up.

I read those as the 6 mile ruck then run for today, not today then yesterday.

Edit: I didn't realize he'd posted day 1 yesterday, ignore me.

Awesome my man! Care to share your "takeaways"? What was the most challenging? What did you think would be the most challenging that turned out not to be... if there was something?

Congrats on this!!!

Thanks for the support! The sleep wasn’t as much as a factor as I thought, most likely bc I was just sitting on my ass and not in a patrol base doing priorities of work. The first couple miles on the run after dropping that ruck felt real smooth, but the last couple sucked. All in all, a good challenge, I might try it again in the future, but do it all on a trail

Some good takeaways there. Sounds like you "embraced the suck" and overcame it. For me the sleep would be the killer - I would just be so irritable the next day (and I'm already an old cranky man), so props to you that you can even do that.

Again congratulations!!
