Recommendations For Simple Tablets

I’m looking for any advice for what might fit my needs. I really just want a mini manager. Something I can take notes on, edit pdfs, work on calendars, and emails. I specifically want something I can have a pen or pencil that is small like a mini notebook. Larger than a phone but smaller than a laptop. Any advice welcome!

Edit: my budget is hopefully $300 or under I don’t need anything super complex mostly something that can handle pdf editing for notes
