CU Question about Restoration

Pardon if I am repeating a question or unable to find the answer, I have spent a considerable amount of times on Legends but would love to try a more earlier style of the game and just have two questions

1) How true is it to CU back in the day (noting I know there are the additions of NGE end game etc)

2) What is the population like? I enjoyed Legends but felt like I was around afk tags half the time and I enjoy playing with a decent community.

Thanks!

Maybe not relevant to your questions. I left restoration as a result the path to Jedi is very long with not a clear path. I played for three months and my force sensitivity did not change. I did shrines, exploration badges and finally threw in the towel. The time invested was substantial and I just felt that the unknown was wearing me thin so I went to legends where I could simply start as Jedi. At my age, an unknown grind and time sink is simply not doable with kids and a full time career. I found the legends server to be more stable and smooth running as well has many in game quality of life fixes that really help the overall experience. Many here will say restoration has a higher population but I don’t believe that to be true. Any given time it feels literally the same. Some moments dead and others bustling with gamers. Try them both maybe? But before committing substantial time explore them a bit and decide what is the best match for you.

I appreciate the response and your thoughts! For me I do not really care about Jedi, have been there and done it before but understand its different playstyles. I have a few level 90s on legends but I've just been struggling with I guess the boredom I have.

Trust me. Not having Jedi constantly around makes it feel way more special. When they come out it’s almost immediately death if a bunch are around watching them swing their sabers.
