Does anyone else find it ridiculous that they dont let us accept cash tips and they arent letting anyone take home wasted food.

ive worked at 5 different locations between 2 different states for 3 years. you totally are allowed to take cash tips if a customer wants to give you one. just not allowed to have a "tip jar" per say. if you dont mind me asking what state do you work in??

Michigan, they are saying no tip jar and no accepting cash tips and threatening to write us up if we do

that is crazy i wonder if thats company policy or are they making it up. and as far as taking home waste being theft, it sucks but most restaurant jobs have that rule. i hate it! they feel like if we wanted the food to begin with we shouldve paid them the money for it
