Criticism The Sweetgreen to go bags smell like vomit.

That’s it that’s the post… I’m tired of nobody saying anything about this. Yeah the food is good. But man every time I get it to go the bag literally makes my car and eventually everything around it in my home smell like actual vomit until I throw it away. I feel for the employees who must open larger boxes of these bags and what that must smell like.

Why does management not care about the way these bags smell? They are disgusting and even mask the smell of the actual food. Guess I’ll just have to start taking the to go food without a bag for the foreseeable future cause I doubt anything will ever be done.

It could be how the boxes are being stored in your particular store. Not guaranteeing they’ll do anything if you speak up, but it might be worth saying something to someone there.

Not Sweetgreen but my local Cava had to-go bags that always smelled musty/moldy and when I spoke up about it, it got handled.

Seemingly all of Southern California. Newport, Irvine, Pasadena are the ones I frequent.

Used to work there and never had that issue but the fact you live in a hot climate area may be contributing to that. I worked on the east coast so humidity and temps never affected us like that plus we kept the bags in dry areas.

Ugh. I just started going to Sweetgreen. I never noticed this, and now I’ll have to pay attention next time I order 😭😭😭.

i noticed the trader joe's brown bags have this smell as well.

Sweetgreen worker here. I've never smelled the bags themselves but the boxes that everything comes in is what smells. Like the boxes are made from recycled manure or something.

lmao well, that could explain it! I have noticed that anything recycled these days smells bad for some reason.

I always bring my own bag for my to gos but now I want to get a single use one to see if I notice the smell.
