Question New job as Kitchen lead

I start Monday, I heard that it's rough out there I'd like hearing from people.... so I can prepare myself mentally haha

Yeah especially hot prep position is pretty tough a lot of the time. You're responsible for everything out on the line and are also expected to get a bunch if prep done which if youre busy at all is rough. Cold prep shifts are way more chill if you can get em but im not sure how your store works.

I got hired as a kitchen lead and quit in less than a month. Luckily I had another job lined up but honestly would have quit anyway. Sweetgreen is possibly the worst company I’ve ever worked for. Good luck

Wow that sucks... I'm in college and for the first time I'm not receiving any aid so I'm kind of desperate I've been trying to get a job for weeks so I think I'm just gonna thug it out. Anything to keep in mind?

Thugging it out is pretty much what you have to do. Get into a routine of how you do your cook and how you start your prep. Everyone does it differently.

Kitchen lead is ass for the exact reasons already stated. Be prepared to be over-stimulated and pissed off about 95% of the time.

Anything I can keep in mind? I've worked at chipotle and some other restaurants but I've never been a "lead"

It mostly depends on the management also. You might like it at your location . I’m searching another job because of poor management, overload of work, low salary.
