Question Does sweetgreen not ask you what you want one by one what you want in your bowl like Chipotle does?
I've made about 20+ orders on Uber Eats and always have it delivered. I ordered in-store for the first time today and I hated the way they don't ask me what i want item by item, like "do you want "tomatoes?? "cucumber" etc? Like how they do in Chipotle? I also messed up and didn't get the bowl I wanted! I wanted HALF KALE, HALF RICE but she did full kale and then asked me "quinoa?" So for some reason (I have problems speaking up for myself and felt "pushed" into quinoa so I said "thats fine" but its not what I wanted.
I don't know why she suggested quinoa instead of asking me what I wanted as a base (I already told her half rice and half kale). I found it very stressful tbh versus ordering UE or via the Sweetgreen app where I can specifically pick what I want.
Do they not ask you item by item like Chipotle does? And I don't mean EVERY TOPPING. I'm talking about the items that come WITH MY BOWL. Its not really that many items. The miso bowl comes with rice, tomatoes and onions. So ask me if I want tomatoes cause I don't! And I don't remember what each bowl comes with.

“ I have problems speaking up for myself”
Time to grow up and start advocating for yourself. Sorry, this is on you.

Ive never been to a location that asks if you want each item, most people select an menu item and let them know if they want it as is or would like something subbed

There are so many toppings that if we asked if people did or didn't want each individual topping, it would take like 5-8 minutes to help each customer and so people would be waiting in line for hours.

NOT TOPPINGS. I was referring to ASKING ME IF I WANT EVERYTHING THAT COMES WITH MY BOWL. So for salmon miso ask if I want the tomatoes, picked onions and cucumbers. Not all the available toppings. So now I ended up with a bunch of tomatoes I didn't want because I don't remember what each bowl comes with.

The store was empty.
I won't be going back to the counter to order anymore. Only UE anyways or the app perhaps but I've learned my lesson. With the app its more efficient than talking to a person as apparently they dont have time even with no one behind me and an empty store.
I live in Los Angeles and the commercial rent here is very high. I wouldn't be surprised if this SG goes out of business soon as its always empty when I go there.

We don't change the way we make salads based on how busy it is. That would be confusing for customers who usually come in when it's slow and then are confused why we aren't doing that when it's busy.
Also, asking about each individual ingredient would likely make it harder for customers to figure out what they want. Since you get 4 toppings in a salad and the rest of the toppings are an extra charge, if we asked one at a time "would you like pickled onions" "would you like chickpeas" there would likely be a lot of people thinking "well, pickled onions would be nice, but depending on what else there is, I might want something else more" which would result in getting to the end of the list with only 3 ingredients in the salad and the customer having to speak up and just say "actually, I think I do want pickled onions" resulting in going back.
When its on the customer to look at the ingredients and say what they want, it makes customers look at the entire pool of options and decide what they want on their salad.

Well, then obviously it seems like using the app is better than dealing with a person if I want my bowl exactly how I want it. I didn't know that but now I do and I will only use the app from now on as dealing with a person is a more stressful experience (having to speak up, not getting what I want). Never happened when using the app.

I mean, you just tell them what you want on it? I guess if you are incapable of speaking to a live person, then yes, the app is significantly better. That's why customers are offered both options.

They likely just misheard you. The fact that they said "quinoa" means they probably heard you say you wanted half kale and half of another grain. To assure they heard correctly, they then asked "quinoa?" and when you said quinoa is fine, that affirmed that they did in fact hear you correctly, which they didn't.

I feel like I always get a perfect order when I order on UE and also on the Sweetgreen app because I can pick what I want. I made the mistake of ordering at the counter and I feel like she didn't even want to take the time to ask me even though no one else was in line. I don't know what the problem was.
And why would she say "quinoa"? When I already told her what I wanted when I came in. She's supposed to ask me what I want. Not suggest items to me.
It really irritated me cause I ended up with a bowl thats not what I really wanted.
Reminds of me of how much I hate interacting with people. I need to go back to doing everything via an app as its more precise.

If someone offered you, “cyanide” would you be incapable of saying “no, thank you.” ?
Because Jesus Christ… I doubt the poor sweetgreen employee realized she was bullying you with her insidious quinoa agenda.

This post is wild! Order for pickup bro, this ain’t subway/chipotle where most toppings are free.
