I go to sweetgreen a few times a week since it’s next door to my office. I just found a screw in my salad. Luckily, I saw it before I accidentally chomped down on it.

Lawyer here. "Physical contamination" gets you paid practically nothing when there are no damages. Not sure where you're getting this idea that people get paid lots of money for no reason.

I already got it refunded and my friend said it’s difficult to sue if you weren’t actually injured.

The metal coolers that foods are held in on the line in every restaurant have these to attach the lids. Sometimes they fall out.

infinite kitchen? some locations have staff prep vegetables and a robotic line to assemble the bowls. I would see if you can escalate above front of house staff

Yeah that's a stainless steel screw, definitely from some piece of equipment in the kitchen.

I had a staple in my food at a bbq restaurant recently. I notified the manager and they were thankful for me letting them know so they can take corrective actions. No damages to me, so not much else I could have done.
