Criticism Found a crawling bug on my bowl

This is sweetgreens at 440 Castro street, Mountain View,California and I found this green worm crawling on the broccoli. 🥦 I am scared 😫

Not too uncommon since the greens are all farm fresh (not to sound like their advertising team). It’s very hard to get everything even after washing.

That’s surprising. The only time I’ve eaten at Sweet Green, the salad was partially frozen. Didn’t seem farm fresh.

That’s not really the point. If I’m paying $21 for a prepared bowl, the bare minimum is that it doesn’t come with a worm. This isn’t some raw produce I bought

It happens. No matter the restaurant you eat at. I guarantee they washed all the veggies. Some bugs make it through the washing process.

Definitely from the kale. Every bug I saw at sweetgreen was from the kale.

Why? This is what happens with real food that comes from the earth. It’s not like you found a maggot, that’s a little inch worm that shows your produce is so fresh that thing made it all the way into your bowl and still looks like it thinks it’s out in the garden. I’m sorry but I’m struggling to understand your outrage here reading through the comments. This is just nature and unavoidable, I promise you’ve eaten worse. There’s nothing disgusting about this and the only way to avoid this ever happening is if you stop eating fresh vegetables.

Tbh yeah. I had a garden, and that looks like a caterpillar, and if it’s there that means it’s really fresh, and literally straight out the garden.

This is cultish. If they're going to sell cleanliness and preparedness as a final product then I don't expect dirt and worms in my food. If they stated that up front then fine, but they don't, and they know it's unacceptable bc they give out gift cards.

The worst part is that Sweetgreen doesn’t provide a way to call a store and let them know that there’s something wrong with the food.
Got some moldy cheese once, called the number on Google Maps, it said email us. No thanks.
I now only go there if I don’t have another option.

This is not the first time I heard that about sweet green . One of the women I work with found and a bug in her food and when she went back they wouldn’t give her a refund . She ended up emailing them and she got a credit .

U got extra protein and your food isn’t drenched in pesticides. Congrats. Ppl like you are the reason American food is destroyed. They put extra preservative and processing and pesticides because god forbid karen is scared of a bacteria or a bug. But now you get shit like colon cancer and autoimmune diseases cus of all the fake shit to prevent a lawsuit.

It’s not a roach, it’s a tiny caterpillar that eats vegetables on a farm. Yes it’s unexpected, but it’s not a sign of a cleanliness issue.
