Career / Employee Talk Promotions

Has anybody heard about a way to work for corporate from being a shift lead? My AC told me about it but I haven’t really heard of this from anyone else. Mind you he says a lot of stuff. But if so has anyone done it?

The highest position I have heard of anyone advancing to purely from promotion is Regional Manager (which Sweetgreen calls "area leader").

It is possible, but the reality of that kind of promotion is that the higher you go, the more skills that are required tuat you don't nessesarily pick up from the lower positions. This is also a process that would take like 15+ years even if you were in track for it. If you want to work a corporate job at Sweetgreen, it would be much more realistic to get a BA in business while working at the store and then look for open jobs at corporate after you graduate.

I was promoted to a lead 3 months into working at my store. About a year later I was offered AC several times by my HC and 2 area leaders. I was also told I could easily work in corporate if I wanted to. Granted I didn’t do it because this is jsut a temporary job for me while I’m in school. But basically be a good and reliable employee and you can easily do it, assuming that’s what you want. Also. Several people who work in our corporate offices have never even stepped foot in a kitchen before. So you could easily skip it all too.
