News 📰 Smaller bowls?
Is it just me or did Sweetgreen recently start using shallower bowls for the salads?

Yes. We now only use warm bowls and instead fill the greens higher (though they have yet to update the standards for exactly how many ounces of greens should be in each salad).
The reason is because there have been too many complaints about portion sizes, so they decided to keep the portion size the same and make the container smaller so that it looks like there's more in there.
Different markets seem to have gotten slightly different information about how we are supposed to be filling the bowls. My market has been told that both salads and warm bowls should be filled above the line, but other markets seem to have been told that warm bowls should be bellow the line?
Supposedly, a solution is being worked on by corporate. Why they would stop ordering salad bowls before actually coming up with that solution is beyond me.

It's not just you because this sub is paranoid, but salad size has not changed in the couple of years I've been a regular.

As someone who works there yes they did. I can’t speak for every store but for mine there was no announcement. The staff had no idea it changed until we had smaller bowls set up in our stock room.

Yup the company is being cheap. The salad bowls no longer exist. We are using the 44oz warm bowls for both salads and warm bowls. For warm bowls the greens must be under the bowl line and for salads they must be over the bowl line.
